One afternoon, on an isolated island, under the hot tropical sun, Jason fainted. When he came to, he found himself alone and disoriented. He decided to climb the nearby mountain.

As Jason climbed, he discovered a horrific sight. A beastly figure hung from a tree. Except it wasn't a beast. It was a dead parachutist tangled in his gear.

Horrified and shocked, Jason rushed back to the camp to tell the others. But night had already fallen and the camp was nestled deep in the forest.

When Jason arrived at the camp, he was met with suspicion and fear. He tried to explain about the dead parachutist, the false beast, but the boys didn't believe him.

Mark, Fatty, Corby, Edward and the others became enraged. They believed Jason was lying or gone mad, and attacked him with their bare hands and teeth.

Jason was overwhelmed and couldn't fend them off. He was beaten to the point of dying. His lifeless body was washed away to the sea by the rising tide.

The next day, Mark's tribe stole Fatty's glasses. Fatty was distraught but unable to fight back. Mark and his tribe ruled with an iron fist.

The following morning, a mischievous Corby threw a large boulder. The boulder knocked into Fatty and the prized conch shell he always carried.

Fatty's lifeless body and the shattered conch shell were washed out to the sea just like Jason. Fatty's glasses were all that remained of his presence.

That night, twins Sawyer and Earl warned Edward that the tribe planned to hunt him down next. They told him to run, to save himself.

Edward, scared, decided to heed the warning. He prepared to escape and tried getting some sleep before the long run that awaited him.

The next morning, Mark set the entire jungle on fire, intending to smoke Edward out of hiding. Mark's dominance and cruelty were becoming apparent.

Edward, with no other choice, ran. Smoke filled his lungs, and the jungle became a labyrinth of fire and chaos. But he had to survive.

Desperate and exhausted, Edward collapsed on the sand at the edge of the island. He saw a figure approaching and thought it was his end.

But the figure was not Mark or any of the boys. It was a naval officer who had come ashore after seeing the smoke. Rescue had finally arrived.

The naval officer was taken aback by the sight of the boys in their primitive state, and even more so by the sight of the burning jungle.

Edward cried tears of relief upon seeing the naval officer. He was finally safe, away from the horrors that were plaguing the island.

One by one, the boys emerged from the forest. The sight of the naval officer broke the illusion of their savage world. Their own brutality confronted them.

Seeing the naval officer, the boys started crying too. The reality of their primitive actions and the loss of their friends hit them hard.

The officer's presence brought forward the contrast between civilization and the savagery they had descended into. They all had their secrets, but the island knew everything.

Faced with their own inhumanity, it was difficult for the boys to come to terms with their actions. They had become strangers to themselves.

The mourning for Jason and Fatty began. Their memories echoed and the boys realized their loss. The innocence that was washed away with their friends.

The rescue was a bitter-sweet moment. They were freed from the island, but the island wasn't free from them. It held their secrets, their guilt, and their loss.

The officer led them to his ship. The boys took a final look at the island. Their paradise turned nightmare was now just a dot in the ocean.

The boys returned to civilization, but they were forever changed. They had faced their primal side, the beast within. The island's secrets lived on within them.
