Pieta van Sterten, a small mouse with a big heart, had heard whispers of a new land. The information came from a hole under the floor of Mr. Grootbroek's dining room.

His wife, Leentje, and cousin Koot Kaas, were keen to embark on this adventure. Koot's pregnant wife, Ellie, was also on board. They decided: they would accompany Jan van Riebeeck.

The morning of 25th December 1651, the brave mice boarded the ship, Drommedaris. Their hearts brimmed with hope, anticipating a better life in the land of sunshine.

As the ship sailed, their dreams were threatened. A cruel ginger cat prowled the ship, casting fear into their tiny hearts.

To add to their woes, a vengeful parrot patrolled the kitchen, thwarting any attempt to gather food. Survival aboard Drommedaris was perilous.

The appearance of a pirate rat, terrorizing the little Kaas mice, added to the chaos. Despite the odds, they were determined to survive.

Pieta, with his courage and wit, managed to outsmart the cat, providing the mice some respite.

Koot and Ellie, despite their fear, concocted a plan to distract the parrot, securing food for their little group.

The clever Leentje, using her quick agility, managed to evade the pirate rat. Their survival, although challenging, was ensured day by day.

Amidst the danger, they encountered wonders that any mouse could only dream of. From the vast ocean to the colorful sky, their journey was filled with awe.

They met other mice, who shared stories of their own adventures. This camaraderie gave them the strength to continue.

The mice even managed to befriend a small dog on the ship, who protected them from the larger predators. This new ally was a ray of hope.

Each day, they grew stronger and more resourceful, their determination unwavering. The new land was within their reach.

Finally, after long weeks at sea, they saw it - the land of sunshine. Their hearts filled with joy as they disembarked from the ship.

The new land was vibrant and rich, filled with lush greenery and abundant food. The mice marveled at the sight of their new home.

They quickly found a perfect spot for their new home, a cozy hole under a large tree. It was everything they had dreamed of and more.

The days that followed were filled with joy and laughter. They had overcome the odds and found their place in the new world.

The birth of Ellie's baby added to their joy. The little mouse was the first of their family to be born in the new land.

They named him Jan, after Jan van Riebeeck, the man who had brought them to this land. He was their symbol of hope and new beginnings.

And so, the mice started their new life in the land of sunshine, their hearts filled with hope and contentment. Their journey was indeed the most wonderful adventure any mouse could dream of.
