Among the many animals, she found a small dog named Bruno. Despite his sad eyes, Bruno wagged his tail upon seeing Nickyle.

Nickyle spent her afternoons in the play area with Bruno. She taught him tricks, played fetch, and comforted him when he seemed anxious.

As days passed, Bruno started trusting Nickyle. He would jump onto her lap, wagging his tail, showing his affection towards her.

As the family took Bruno away, he looked back at Nickyle one last time. A sense of longing in his eyes, but also a promise of a better future.

In Bruno's place, there was a new rescue. The dog was shy and scared. Nickyle knew she had another friend to make.
