Meet Finley, a playful bear cub. One day, he caught the flu, a sickness caused by a tiny virus that can spread easily among bears.

The flu is caused by a virus, a very small germ that can't even be seen with your eyes! It's shaped like spiky balls and when it gets inside bear bodies, it makes us sick.

The flu virus spreads in droplets when sick bears cough, sneeze or even talk closely. It can easily pass from bear to bear, making lots of us ill at the same time!

Avoiding the flu isn't easy. But washing your paws often, covering coughs, and getting a flu shot each year can help protect you.

When Finley caught the flu virus, he felt terrible! His symptoms started with a fever, body aches, and feeling so tired. Then came the sniffles, sore throat and nasty cough.

With the flu, all you can do is rest and take medicine for your symptoms until it goes away. Finley had to miss bear cub school and playing outside for over a week! No fun at all.

Finally, after plenty of rest, soup and cuddles, Finley got better! The flu virus was gone from his body. He felt like playing again and gave his friends who visited lots of bear hugs!

Finley learned a valuable lesson about the flu virus and how to protect himself. He promised to wash his paws often, cover his coughs and get his flu shot every year.
