    Gary the green garden snake of Greenville, lived in a little patch of green. He'd often dream of far-off lands, and the lives other snakes had seen.

    One day, Gary saw a chance, hid in a suitcase left unzipped. With a heart full of hope and a head full of dreams, on a global journey, he slipped.

    In England, he met Jack, an adder so posh, with a voice that sounded so refined. Gary felt a little out of place, with Jack's sophisticated lifestyle in mind.

    Next, in Africa, he met Ade, a black mamba, wild and free. But the harsh conditions and wild animals, were a bit too much for Gary.

    In India, he met Adesh, the king cobra, wise and grand. But humans hunted him constantly, a life Gary couldn't withstand.

    In the Philippines, he met Tala, a sea snake swift and kind. But Gary wasn't a good swimmer, and the thought of sharks plagued his mind.

    In South America, he met Leo, an anaconda, large and strong. But the jungle was teeming with danger, and Gary knew he didn't belong.

    In New Mexico, he met Aponi, a rattlesnake full of zest. But the desert was too hot by day and too cold by night, for Gary to rest.

    Finally, Gary returned home, to his little garden so dear. With a heart full of stories and a soul full of joy, he let out a cheer.

    He told his family about his journey, each adventure, every sight. His family listened, their eyes aglow with delight.

    Home wasn't as bad as he used to think, in fact, it was rather great. Gary realized there was no place he'd rather be, for him, his garden was first rate.
