Jojo the clown was walking with Jojo’s friends near the game booths when a strange white shape drifted between the tents. Its sheet-like form shimmered in the dim light, and a low moaning sound rolled through the fairground like cold wind through a tunnel. "Did you see that floating by the ring toss booth, because I definitely saw it and I do not think that was part of the show at all,"
The friends gasped and stumbled backward as the ghost raised its arms and let out another spooky wail. Jojo dropped a red rubber ball, and everyone turned at once and ran as fast as they could, their footsteps thudding over the wooden boards and gravel path. "Run, run, that ghost is coming after us, and I am not waiting around to find out what it wants,"
Geo Umizoomi[/@ch_3], calm and thoughtful, with the warm glow of the lamp making the scene feel safe again.]
Breathing hard, Jojo the clown and the friends rushed up to Geo Umizoomi and tried to explain what had happened. Their faces were pale with fear, and they kept pointing back toward the fairground where the ghost had appeared. "Geo, you have to help us right now because a ghost floated out from behind the tents and chased us, and it made the scariest sound I have ever heard,"
Geo Umizoomi listened carefully and nodded, refusing to panic. "Let us go back together, look closely at every clue, and figure out whether this is really a ghost or just something that seems spooky in the dark," With steady steps, Geo led the group past the popcorn cart and toward the place where the figure had first appeared.
Geo Umizoomi lifted the edge of the glowing white cloth and revealed a man underneath, wearing boots dusted with flour and holding a small noisemaker. The sheet had caught the moonlight, and the wind had made it billow in a ghostly way, while the noisemaker created the eerie cry that frightened everyone. "It was someone all along, and now we know there was never a real ghost here tonight,"
Jojo the clown stepped forward, still nervous but no longer shaking, and looked at the man. "You scared us so badly that we ran all the way to find Geo, because we thought you were a real ghost floating around the fairground in the dark," The man lowered his head and explained that he had been moving props for a costume act and had covered himself with the sheet to carry it, never realizing how frightening he looked.
The man apologized, and Jojo’s friends began to laugh at how spooky the mistake had seemed just moments before. Geo Umizoomi smiled proudly at the group for facing their fear and finding the truth together. "We were terrified a minute ago, but now it is actually funny to know that the ghost was just a man with a sheet and a silly noise maker,"
Jojo the clown thanked Geo Umizoomi for helping everyone solve the mystery. Together they walked back toward the center of the fairground, smiling as the music rose and the fear melted away. "I am really glad you helped us find out what happened, because now we know that sometimes the scariest things are only misunderstandings in the dark,"
