Melissa walked into the clinic, her heart pounding like a drum. She glanced at her grandmother, seeking reassurance. Grandma smiled, her eyes twinkling behind her glasses.

"Don't worry, dear," Grandma told Melissa, "Getting braces might feel a bit uncomfortable, but it'll make your smile even prettier."

Melissa climbed onto the dentist chair, her heart pounding. She hated the sight of the dental tools. Grandma held her hand, whispering words of encouragement.

As Grandma started applying the braces cream, Melissa clenched her hands, her eyes welling up with tears. But she didn't cry out, she was determined to be brave.

After the procedure, Grandma gave Melissa a teddy bear. Melissa's eyes sparkled as she hugged the teddy bear tightly. It was soft and fluffy, a comforting presence.

Seeing Melissa's courage, Grandma promised her a sticker and a toy if she continued to be brave. Melissa nodded, her determination strengthened by the promise of rewards.

Back home, Melissa looked at herself in the mirror, her new braces glinting. She felt a sense of pride. She had faced her fears and come out stronger.

Grandma came into the room, a sticker and a toy in her hands. Seeing her rewards, Melissa's face lit up. She had earned them, and they were precious.

That night, Melissa went to bed with a smile on her face. She had learnt that bravery wasn't the absence of fear, but facing it and moving forward.

Grandma kissed her goodnight, proud of her granddaughter's courage. "Remember, Melissa," she said, "The bravest thing you can be is yourself."

Melissa drifted off to sleep, her dreams filled with adventures and bravery. She knew she could face anything now, with her bravery and her Grandma by her side.

And so, Melissa's braces adventure came to an end. But it was just the beginning of many more adventures, each one making her braver, stronger, and happier.
