In a kingdom far away, lived a young woman named Cinderella. She was beautiful but her heart was filled with sadness, for her cruel stepmother and stepsisters treated her like a servant.

Her stepmother and stepsisters made Cinderella do all the housework, while they attended grand balls and feasted on delicious food. They never missed a chance to belittle her.

One day, while Cinderella was scrubbing the floors, a royal invitation arrived. The Prince was throwing a grand ball, and every eligible lady in the kingdom was invited.

The stepmother and stepsisters were overjoyed. They began to prepare for the ball, completely ignoring Cinderella's wish to attend.

Heartbroken, Cinderella ran to the garden and wept. Suddenly, a warm light enveloped her and a kind old woman appeared. 'Don't cry, child,' she said, 'I am your fairy godmother.'

With a wave of her wand, the fairy godmother transformed Cinderella's rags into a beautiful gown and her torn shoes into glass slippers. 'Now you can go to the ball,' she said.

At the ball, Cinderella was the center of attention. Her beauty outshone all the other ladies, catching the eye of the Prince himself.

The Prince was smitten by Cinderella's beauty and kindness. They danced all night, forgetting about the world around them.

But when the clock struck twelve, Cinderella remembered the fairy godmother's words. 'The magic will wear off at midnight,' she had warned.

In her haste to leave, Cinderella lost one of her glass slippers on the palace steps. The Prince found it and vowed to find the lady who owned the slipper.

The Prince traveled across the kingdom, having each lady try on the slipper. But it fit no one.

When the Prince arrived at Cinderella's house, her stepmother and stepsisters tried on the slipper but it didn't fit. Finally, Cinderella was allowed to try it on.

To everyone's surprise, the glass slipper fit Cinderella perfectly. The Prince was overjoyed to find the lady he had been searching for.

The Prince asked Cinderella to marry him. She agreed, hoping for a happier life away from her cruel stepmother and stepsisters.

The royal wedding was a grand affair. The whole kingdom celebrated, and Cinderella and the Prince looked happier than ever.

Cinderella's kindness and courage had won her a place in the royal palace. Her days of sadness and hardship were finally over.
