Emma and Aoife, two siblings, were bored during the COVID lockdown. School was closed, and they missed playing badminton. So, they decided to make a court at home.

"It’s not as good as the club, but it will do," said Emma, surveying their handiwork. Aoife nodded, eagerly clutching his racquet. They started playing, laughing as they tripped over cushions.

As days passed, the siblings grew better, their strokes smoother. They also kept scores, marking victories on the whiteboard. Aoife was leading, but Emma was determined to catch up.

"I won't let you win easily, Aoife" Emma challenged, her eyes shining with determination. Aoife just grinned, "Bring it on, sis!"

Every evening, they practiced serves and returns. Emma improved her backhand, while Aoife worked on her smashes. Their parents watched, proud of their dedication.

One day, Emma finally won a match. She jumped in joy, her face gleaming. Aoife, although a bit disappointed, clapped for her sister, happy for her victory.

The lockdown continued, but the siblings' spirits remained high. They loved their badminton sessions, cherishing their bond and the joy of the game.

"I'm glad we started this, Emma," Aoife confessed one day, panting after a particularly intense match. Emma agreed, "Me too, Aoife. It's something to look forward to."

Emma and Aoife's makeshift court became their haven. They laughed, argued, competed, and celebrated together. Their bond strengthened, and so did their badminton skills.

Their parents were amazed at their progress and the positivity they maintained. Their living room had become more than just a court; it was a source of happiness for the whole family.

Soon, lockdown restrictions eased, and life began to return to normal. But the siblings continued their home matches, cherishing the memories they had created.

They had turned a challenging time into an adventure, a badminton journey that they would remember forever. And they realized, it wasn't about winning or losing, but the fun and togetherness they shared.
