“There’s a booger on the wall, I hope it doesn’t fall. Should I call the cops, No they would just bring mops”, murmured Joey, a ten-year-old boy.
He was staring at a dry booger stuck to his bedroom wall, right above his bed. The sight had him worried.
He wondered how it got there. Maybe during one of those crazy pillow fights with his brother, Tom.
"Should I poke it down with a stick? But then it might fall on me!", Joey thought aloud.
Then his gaze landed on his superhero action figure. He got an idea.
"I'll get Super-John to save the day," Joey decided, picking up his action figure.
He carefully positioned the action figure on his bed to knock the booger off the wall.
His first attempt failed. The booger remained stuck, mocking him.
"This isn't over," Joey declared, thinking of a new strategy.
This time, he tied a thread around Super-John, planning to swing him at the booger.
Super-John soared through the air, but missed the target. The booger held its ground.
Frustrated, Joey dropped on his bed, ready to give up. Then he saw the ceiling fan.
"Maybe I can blow it off!" he exclaimed, getting off his bed to put his plan into action.
He turned the fan on and waited, staring at the booger. But it stayed stuck, unfazed.
Tom walked in just then, saw Joey glaring at the wall, and burst into laughter.
Joey explained his predicament. Tom walked up to the booger and flicked it off with a finger.
The booger fell on the floor, not the bed, and Joey sighed in relief.
"It was so easy," Joey muttered, stunned.
"Next time," Tom said, grinning, "just use your finger."
Tom left the room, leaving Joey alone with his thoughts.
Joey looked at his fingers, contemplating the simplicity of the solution.
No superheroes. No elaborate plans. Just a finger.
He smiled at the thought, feeling a sense of enlightenment.
Picking up Super-John, he said, "We'll save the world some other day, buddy."
As Joey went to sleep that night, he dreamt of different adventures. Adventures without boogers, of course.
