    In the heart of the village lived a young boy. His daily chore was to watch over the village sheep, a task he found dreadfully boring.

    To break the monotony, he concocted a plan. One day, he shouted at the top of his lungs, claiming a wolf was chasing the sheep.

    The villagers came sprinting, ready to drive the wolf away. But upon reaching, they found no such wolf, only the boy laughing at his own prank.

    Annoyed, they warned him not to pull such a stunt again and returned to their homes. But the boy, enjoying the excitement, repeated his trick shortly after.

    Once again, the villagers came running, but again, there was no wolf. This time, their annoyance turned into anger, and they vowed not to heed his cries again.

    Later that day, a real wolf slipped amongst the flock. The boy screamed for help, but this time, no one came to his aid.

    Alone and terrified, the boy could only watch as the wolf scattered his flock. When the sun set, he was left with nothing but regrets.

    The villagers found the boy crying at sunset. An old man approached him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.

    'There really was a wolf this time!' the boy cried. The villagers looked at each other, their faces filled with remorse.

    The boy nodded, wiping his tears. That day, he learned a valuable lesson about honesty and integrity.
