Once upon a time, in a dense forest, lived a clever little mouse-deer named Sang Kancil. He was known for his intelligence and quick wit among all the animals.

One day, Sang Kancil was walking by the river when he noticed a large crocodile resting on the bank. The crocodile was known for his greed and cunningness.

The crocodile, seeing Sang Kancil, thought of a plan to eat him. He pretended to be asleep, waiting for Sang Kancil to come closer.

Being clever, Sang Kancil sensed something was wrong. He decided to outwit the crocodile. He started talking loudly about a huge pile of fruits on the other side of the river.

On hearing about the fruits, the crocodile's greed was aroused. He asked Sang Kancil how to reach the other side. Sang Kancil suggested that the crocodile should form a bridge with his friends across the river.

The crocodile, blinded by greed, called his friends and formed a bridge. Sang Kancil thanked the crocodile and started hopping on their backs to cross the river.

As Sang Kancil was halfway across, the crocodile realized he had been tricked. He tried to catch Sang Kancil, but it was too late. Sang Kancil was too quick.

Sang Kancil reached the other side safely. He turned around and thanked the crocodiles for their help. He said, 'Without your help, I wouldn't have been able to cross the river.'

The crocodiles were left in the middle of the river, feeling foolish. They realized that they had been outwitted by Sang Kancil's intelligence.

Sang Kancil went on his way, leaving the crocodiles behind. He was happy that he had managed to outwit the crocodile and save himself.

From then on, the animals in the forest were even more impressed by Sang Kancil's cleverness. They respected him even more and always sought his advice when in trouble.

Meanwhile, the crocodile learned a valuable lesson about greed and deception. He decided to be more cautious and less greedy in the future.
