Once upon a time, high up in the sky, the Moon felt very tired. 'I've been glowing every night for millions of years,' she said, 'maybe tonight, I deserve a break.'

The stars twinkled around her. 'But Moon, what will the world do without your light?' asked Stella, the smallest star. 'Just one night won't hurt,' the Moon yawned. 'The stars can keep the sky bright!'

That night, the Moon closed her eyes and slipped into a deep sleep. Down on Earth, the animals noticed something was wrong. 'Where is the Moon?' asked Owl, blinking in the dark.

The stars tried their best to shine brighter. But without the Moon’s big, glowing light, the night felt darker than ever. 'We must do something!' said Stella, determined.

The stars huddled together. 'Maybe if we all shine together, it will be enough,' suggested Sirius, the brightest star. They twinkled and sparkled, but it was still too dim.

Down on Earth, the children gazed up at the sky. 'The stars are beautiful,' said one, 'but where’s the Moon? I can't sleep without her light.'

Up in the sky, the stars felt worried. They had never been in charge of the night before. 'I have an idea,' said Stella. 'Let's wake up the Moon!'

The stars gathered together and shouted, 'Moon, Moon! Wake up!' But the Moon was fast asleep, snoring softly in the sky.

'We need to be louder,' said Vega. 'On the count of three, everyone twinkle as bright as you can!' The stars all took a deep breath. 'One, two, three!'

They twinkled so brightly that the whole sky looked like a million diamonds. Down on Earth, even the oceans shimmered with their reflection.

But the Moon didn’t stir. She just kept sleeping, dreaming of peaceful nights. The stars grew worried. 'What do we do now?' asked Stella.

Suddenly, a soft voice came from below. It was Owl! 'Maybe you need to sing to her,' he suggested. 'The Moon loves lullabies.'

The stars giggled. 'Sing a lullaby to wake her up?' But they were willing to try anything. And so, the stars hummed a gentle tune, soft and sweet.

The night sky filled with the sound of twinkling melodies. Slowly, very slowly, the Moon began to stir. Her eyes fluttered open. 'Is it morning already?' she yawned.

'Oh no, Moon! It’s still night,' said Stella. 'The stars and everyone on Earth need your light!'

The Moon blinked in surprise. 'Oh dear, I forgot to shine!' she gasped. She stretched her beams wide, and the whole sky lit up in a beautiful silver glow.

Down on Earth, the animals cheered, and the children smiled. The Moon was back! The night felt safe and calm once again.

'Thank you for waking me,' said the Moon, looking down at the stars. 'You did a good job, but I think I prefer shining in the night.'
