Once upon a time, in a cozy little town surrounded by beautiful mountains, lived a 7-year-old girl named Lucy. She lived with her father, who was a fisherman.

One sunny morning, Lucy's dad decided to take her on a fishing trip. Lucy was excited as it was her first fishing trip with her dad.

They packed their fishing gear and a picnic lunch. Off to the river they went, filled with excitement and anticipation.

Upon reaching the river, dad showed Lucy how to cast the fishing rod. Lucy was a quick learner and managed to cast the rod correctly after a few attempts.

Suddenly, Lucy's fishing rod began to wiggle. She got excited and started pulling, but the fish was too strong for her.

Her dad came to help, but the fish was so strong that it pulled the fishing rod from their hands, and it flew into the river.

Lucy was disappointed. She thought she had ruined the fishing trip. Her dad, however, smiled and told her not to worry.

He told her that they could make a new fishing rod. Lucy was intrigued. She had never made a fishing rod before.

Together, they found a long, sturdy branch and a piece of string. Lucy watched as her dad tied the string to the branch.

Next, they needed a hook. Lucy found a small, sharp stone and her dad tied it to the string. Now they had a homemade fishing rod.

They cast the rod into the water again. This time, Lucy was more careful. She waited patiently for a fish to bite.
