Sally loved to read before bed. Every night, she would sit in her bed, her Persian cat purring next to her, and lose herself in the pages of a beautiful fairy tale.

Stella, Sally's best friend, also enjoyed the quiet evening reading ritual. They would often discuss their favourite stories, creating a bond that only books could forge.

Pamela, on the other hand, had a passion for dolls. Her room was filled with dolls of all sizes, each one unique and special to her.

Pamela’s mother, knowing her daughter's love for dolls, frequently visited a toy store. One day, she found a wonderfully beautiful doll and bought it for Pamela.

Pamela's mother presented the doll to her. She had expected Pamela to be thrilled, but instead, Pamela threw the new doll in a corner.

Pamela sat surrounded by her dolls, upset. She didn't want another doll. Yet, the new doll was undeniably beautiful. She found herself combing the doll's hair.

One day, all of Pamela's dolls, including the new one, were packed into a large burlap bag and thrown away, much to Pamela's dismay.

Sarah, another of the five girls, had a different interest. She found joy in books, especially fairy tales. Her favourite place was the public library.

One day, Sarah brought a thick book of fairy tales from the library. She read the book with great interest, completely immersed in the magical world.

After finishing the book, Sarah, accompanied by her mother, returned it to the library. She always made sure to return her books on time.

The library often held story-telling sessions. Young children, including Sarah, would sit on the floor, listening to the librarian narrating interesting tales.

Some children were careless with books. They threw them in the air or scribbled on them, causing them to be worn out and discarded.

Cassandra, the fifth of the five girls, loved animals, particularly cats. She was especially fascinated by a beautiful Persian cat in a pet store.

One day, Cassandra brought the Persian cat home. She played with it, waving a long red ribbon for the cat to chase. It was a delightful sight.

The Persian cat became Cassandra's favourite pet. She would often find it sleeping peacefully in front of the warm fireplace, a sight that brought her much joy.

One day, on her way home from school, Sarah noticed a burlap bag in front of Pamela’s house. Curiosity piqued, she went to investigate.

To her surprise, the bag was filled with Pamela's dolls. Among them, Sarah noticed the new doll that Pamela had received from her mother.

Sarah took the doll home, cleaned it up, and mended its clothes. She found comfort in caring for the doll, even though she wasn't as fond of dolls as Pamela.

Sarah decided to gift the doll to Cassandra, knowing that she would appreciate it. Cassandra was delighted with the gift and thanked Sarah.

Cassandra and the Persian cat became best friends with the doll. They would play together, creating many beautiful memories.

Pamela, meanwhile, missed her dolls, especially the new one. She regretted her decision of discarding them and felt lonely without her beloved dolls.

One day, Pamela visited Cassandra’s house and saw her doll, happy and well-cared for. She felt a pang of jealousy but also a sense of relief.

Pamela confessed to Cassandra about her regret. Cassandra, being understanding, suggested they share the doll, to which Pamela agreed happily.

From that day on, Pamela, Cassandra, and the doll spent many happy moments together. The doll brought them closer, strengthening their friendship.

Stella and Sally heard about the doll and joined in the fun. The doll was no longer forgotten, it was cherished and loved by all.

They all learnt a valuable lesson about appreciation and friendship. Each girl, with their unique interests, found a common bond in the doll.

The story of the doll became a favourite bedtime story for Sally and Stella. They were reminded of the importance of cherishing what they have.

Pamela never stopped collecting dolls, but she now valued each one of them. She learned the true value of things when she almost lost what she loved.

And so, the five girls, each different in their own way, learnt a valuable lesson. They continued to cherish their friendship, the doll, and the memories they made together.

In the end, the discarded doll became a symbol of friendship, love, and appreciation among the five girls. It was no longer forgotten, but instead, it was cherished forever.
