Bear owned a large, fertile piece of land which he never cultivated. He preferred to laze around and enjoy his easy life.

One day, Rabbit visited Bear, asking if he could borrow the land to grow food for his family. Bear agreed but asked for half of the crops in return.

Rabbit agreed, planning to teach Bear a lesson. He and his family worked hard on the field, planting potatoes.

When the harvest time came, Rabbit invited Bear to collect his half of the produce. Bear arrived eagerly, but was disappointed to find out that his half was just the leaves, as potatoes grow underground.

Few months later, when the potatoes were almost finished, Rabbit went to Bear again to borrow the land. Bear, still greedy, demanded the bottom half of the produce this time.

Rabbit agreed, and this time around, he planted wheat. When Bear came to collect his half, he got just the straw, the bottom half, while Rabbit kept the wheat grains.

Bear was furious and demanded all the produce if Rabbit wanted to borrow the land again. Rabbit, seeing Bear's anger, felt a little guilty.

Rabbit proposed a new deal, 'What if I leave the middle part of the crop for me, and you can have the top and the bottom?' Bear, still oblivious, agreed.

This time, Rabbit planted corn. Bear, curious to see what Rabbit was up to, would sneak to the field every day.

When Bear saw the corn growing, he realized Rabbit's clever plan. He was left with just the top tassels and the bottom stalks, while Rabbit had all the corn cobs, the middle part.

Bear, with a heavy heart, accepted his loss and regretted his greed. 'I should not have tried to take advantage of Rabbit,' he thought to himself.

Rabbit had successfully taught Bear a lesson about honesty and kindness, reminding him that greed can lead to one's downfall.
