In a serene village, lived a donkey named Miko. Miko resided in the farm of a kind-hearted old farmer. His primary job was to help the farmer carry the farm produce to the market. However, Miko was known for his laziness and his knack for finding an excuse to rest or sleep.

One day, the farmer decided to take his produce to a distant market. 'Miko, today we are going to the big market. You need to carry a lot of wheat, but don't worry, I will let you rest along the way,' said the farmer gently.

Despite the farmer's assurance, Miko remained lazy. He began to walk slowly, intentionally stopping to graze or sleep under a tree. The farmer had to wait each time Miko stopped, turning their short journey into a long drawn one.

As they neared the market, the farmer said, 'Miko, if we don't reach soon, the market will close, and we won't be able to sell the wheat. We might not have food for this week.'

But Miko didn't care. He continued to walk lazily and slowly. By the time they reached the market, all the stalls were closed. The farmer couldn't sell his produce. Miko returned with an empty stomach, as the farmer had no money to buy food.

That night, Miko was starving and felt regretful. He realized that because of his laziness, both he and the farmer couldn't get food. The next day, Miko made a promise to himself to not be lazy anymore. He wanted to be a diligent donkey and assist the farmer wholeheartedly.

From that day on, Miko always worked earnestly. The lazy donkey was no more. He and the farmer never starved again.

Moral of the story: Laziness leads to regrets. By working hard and diligent, we can ensure a better future for ourselves and those around us.
