Mitzi the squirrel girl was not one to give up easily. She had spent an entire week coaxing Murphy, the sporty cat boy, into joining the school play. Murphy, who loved soccer more than anything, finally agreed, much to Mitzi's delight.

The day of the rehearsals arrived, and Murphy found himself playing the part of Hansel in the classic story of Hansel and Gretel. He was nervous, but Mitzi cheered him on, telling him he would do great.

However, not everyone was happy with Murphy's involvement in the play. Vivian, the fox girl, felt a pang of jealousy. She despised Murphy and came up with a plan to embarrass him.

Vivian knew about the scene where Hansel eats a lot of food. She decided to replace the fake food with magically enhanced food that would make whoever ate it rapidly gain weight.

The opening night arrived, and the auditorium was packed. Murphy was backstage, preparing for his role, while Mitzi wished him luck. Unbeknownst to them, Vivian was executing her plan.

The play began, and everything was going smoothly. Murphy was doing a great job as Hansel, and the audience was enjoying the performance. Then came the scene where Hansel had to eat.

Murphy started eating the food. As he ate, he started to feel his costume getting tighter. He looked down and was shocked to see his belly growing. The audience gasped.

From the wings, Mitzi saw what was happening and was horrified. Vivian, on the other hand, was enjoying every moment of Murphy's discomfort.

Murphy was terrified but he decided to continue with the play. The audience started laughing, thinking it was part of the show. Murphy's acting skill came to the fore as he played along.

Mitzi, however, knew that something was wrong. She ran backstage and found the rest of the magical food. She quickly realized what Vivian had done.

Mitzi confronted Vivian, but the fox girl just shrugged and smirked. Mitzi was furious but knew she had to help Murphy. She remembered an antidote potion they had for a different scene in the play.

Mitzi quickly got the potion and ran back to the stage. She managed to give it to Murphy during a scene change. Murphy drank it and soon, his size began to shrink back to normal.

The audience was surprised again, but they loved the unexpected twist. The play continued, and Murphy gave a performance of a lifetime. The audience gave a standing ovation at the end.

Vivian's plan had backfired. Murphy was now the star of the night. Mitzi was proud of her friend, and even Vivian had to admit that Murphy had done a great job.

That night, Murphy learned a valuable lesson about courage and resilience. And Mitzi learned that friendship and quick thinking can overcome any obstacle, even a cunning fox girl's plan.
