The Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes

One warm afternoon in Galilee, I was with my family in the countryside, listening to an amazing teacher they called Jesus.

Jesus and his disciples were out teaching a large crowd of people about God's love. I had never seen such a large crowd before. There were around 5,000 men, and even more women and children.

As the day wore on, my stomach started to growl, and I started to get hungry. My mom had packed a small lunch for me - just five small loaves of bread and two small fish. It wasn't much, but it was all we had.

Just as I was about to eat my lunch, I noticed Jesus’ disciples looked really worried as they talked among themselves. 'We don't have enough food to feed all these people!' I heard them say.

One of Jesus’ disciples named Andrew was standing beside me and even though I didn’t want to give up my only food, I decided to hand him my small basket.

Andrew smiled at me and told the other disciples that I had offered to share my food, but the other disciples didn’t seem as thankful. 'You have only five loaves and two fish,' they replied. 'That's not enough for this many people!'

Just then Jesus walked up and said, 'Don't worry, I will take care of it.' He asked the disciples, 'How much food do we have?' They said, 'We only have five loaves of bread and two fish. How can we possibly feed all these people?'

That's when Jesus looked at me. 'Thank you for sharing your lunch with us. Bring me your basket,' he said. I was scared at first, because I was ashamed that I did not have much food, but there was something about Jesus' eyes that made me trust him.

Jesus told the disciples to have the people sit down in groups on the grass. Then he took the small amount of food I had - just five loaves and two fish - and he looked up to heaven, and thanked God for the food. Then he broke the bread and fish into pieces and gave it to his disciples to share with the people.

Then something amazing happened! As the disciples handed out my lunch, the food kept multiplying, and everyone was able to eat until they were full! I watched in amazement as the disciples kept handing out the bread and fish.

Thousands of people were eating, and there was still more food left over! After everyone had eaten and was full, the disciples collected the leftover pieces, and they filled up twelve baskets.

I couldn't believe my eyes. Jesus had taken my small lunch and turned it into a feast for the whole crowd. I felt so honored that he had chosen to use my food in this miracle. From that day on, I knew Jesus was no ordinary teacher - he was the Son of God, with the power to do the impossible.
