SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star were lazing around in their pineapple and rock houses respectively, in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. Suddenly, SpongeBob had a flash of inspiration- it was time to celebrate 'September Special'!

SpongeBob ran to Patrick's house, bubbling with excitement. Patrick, intrigued by his best friend's enthusiasm, agreed to be a part of the 'September Special'. The pair started planning zealously.

They decided that they would relive their most memorable moments from past Septembers. They would recreate the zany adventures that had transpired, causing mayhem throughout Bikini Bottom.

They began with the 'Jellyfish Festival' of September, 1999. SpongeBob and Patrick spent hours trying to catch the sneakiest jellyfish in Jellyfish Fields, just like they did that year.

Next came the 'Great Sand Castle Battle' of 2000. SpongeBob and Patrick took on the task of rebuilding their colossal sand fortresses and waged war on each other with sand.

They moved on to the 'Bubble Blowing Competition' of 2001. SpongeBob and Patrick blew gigantic bubbles that floated around Bikini Bottom, interrupting the lives of the townsfolk.

September 2002's 'Krusty Krab Cook-Off' was next. They competed to make the best Krabby Patty, even though SpongeBob always won, making Patrick laugh at the predictability of it all.

For the 'Scavenger Hunt' of 2003, they spent the entire day looking for object on a list Squidward had composed. By the end, they realized it was just Squidward's grocery list!

They re-enacted the 'Underwater Olympics' of 2004. Without real competitors, they competed against each other in everything from seaweed sprinting to clam lifting.

The 'Haunted Pineapple Incident' of 2005 was a bit of a challenge. They attempted to recreate all the spooky happenings that had taken place in SpongeBob's house that year.

For the 'Pet Competition' of 2006, they entered their pets, Gary and Rocky. While they didn't quite understand the nature of the competition, they had a blast just being a part of it.

The 'Treasure Hunt' of 2007 saw them diving into the deepest parts of Bikini Bottom. They eventually found the treasure, which was a chest full of candy, in their own backyard.

They started 'Karate Championships' of 2008 with great enthusiasm. Despite their lack of actual karate skills, they had great fun practicing and pretending like they were superstars.

In the 'Music Festival' of 2009, they rocked out with their makeshift band, SpongeBob on the ukulele and Patrick on the drums. They even gave a public performance at the Bikini Bottom Park!

In the spirit of 2010's 'Fashion Frenzy', SpongeBob designed outfits out of seaweed, and Patrick modeled them. The townsfolk had a good laugh at their unconventional fashion sense.

The 'Cooking Extravaganza' of 2011 saw them making wild and unusual dishes. The people of Bikini Bottom bravely tasted the strange concoctions and were surprisingly pleased.

They revisited the 'Bubble Art Festival' of 2012, creating spectacular shapes and figures with their bubbles. They painted the sky of Bikini Bottom with their colorful creations.

They recreated the 'Jellyfish Jam of 2013' by inviting as many jellyfish as they could to a dance party at SpongeBob's Pineapple. The jellyfish, it seemed, loved their underwater disco!

Inspired by the 'Beach Games' of 2014, they set up various games at Goo Lagoon. The people of Bikini Bottom were thrilled to participate in the impromptu event.

The 'Great Patty Race' of 2015 was a challenge. SpongeBob and Patrick, the only participants, raced from the Krusty Krab to the Chum Bucket, holding Krabby Patties. They declared it was a tie.

The 'Great Balloon Race' of 2016 had them flying around in balloons made of kelp. They soared through the water, enjoying the aerial view of their beloved town.

For the 'Multicolored Seaweed Festival' of 2017, they decorated the entire Bikini Bottom with vibrant seaweed. It turned the town into a kaleidoscope of underwater hues.

In homage to the 'Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Fan Meet' of 2018, they role-played as their favorite superheroes. They even crafted their homemade superhero costumes!

The 'Underwater Parade' of 2019 had them creating a float that represented their friendship- a pineapple and a rock with giant best friend hearts. Bikini Bottom applauded their creativity.

Finally, came the present year. For the 'September Special' of 2020, they decided to celebrate by recapping all their previous 'September Specials'. And oh, what a celebration it was!
