The three pig brothers lived in an open field. One day, they learned about a ferocious wolf nearby and decided to build houses to protect themselves. The smallest pig built a straw house and then went to play.

The middle pig, seeing his younger brother playing, quickly built a wooden house and then joined him. However, the oldest pig chose to build a house of bricks. It took him much longer, but he knew it would provide the best protection.

The wolf arrived and approached the straw house. He shouted at the small pig to open the door, but the pig refused. The wolf huffed and puffed, and blew the straw house down. The small pig ran to his middle brother's wooden house for safety.

The wolf followed the small pig to the wooden house and repeated his threat. Once again, the pigs refused to open the door. So, the wolf huffed and puffed, and blew the wooden house down as well. Both pigs ran to their oldest brother's brick house.

The wolf, not giving up, approached the brick house. He demanded the pigs to open the door, threatening to blow their house down. But no matter how much he huffed and puffed, the brick house stood strong.

The cunning wolf then tried to climb onto the roof and enter through the chimney. However, the oldest pig had anticipated this. He had covered the roof with banana peels. The wolf slipped and fell, and never bothered the pigs again.

The oldest pig had proved that hard work pays off. He not only saved himself but also his brothers from the danger. They thanked their elder brother, promised to work hard in the future, and lived happily ever after in the brick house.
