    Makoyah was a good girl from Liberia, living with her parents. She was only a year old when her father announced his decision to move to the USA.

    Her father, a poor man, decided to move to the USA to look for money to help their struggling family. He married a woman from the USA, promising to return.

    Despite her father's promises, he never returned. Makoyah grew up without her father's presence, feeling abandoned and hurt.

    Five years later, Makoyah's mother decided to remarry. This decision brought a new wave of changes in their lives.

    Makoyah's stepfather was a kind man. He treated Makoyah as his own and brought stability to their lives.

    Makoyah was happy for her mother but she couldn't forget her biological father's abandonment. She refused to call him, harboring resentment.
