Our journey begins with a delicious pizza, freshly baked and served hot. It's time for the pizza to start its journey through the digestive system.

The first stop is the mouth. As soon as the pizza enters, the teeth start grinding it into smaller pieces. Saliva mixes with the food, beginning the digestion process.

Next, the chewed pizza travels down the throat. Here, a special flap called the epiglottis ensures the food goes into the stomach, not the lungs.

The pizza now reaches the stomach. In this bag-like organ, strong acids and enzymes break down the food into a gooey substance.

The pizza's journey continues into the small intestine. Here, the body absorbs all the nutrients it can get from the food.

After the small intestine, the pizza moves into the large intestine. This organ absorbs any remaining water and nutrients.

The pizza's journey nears its end in the rectum, where the body stores waste before it's ready to leave the body.

Finally, what remains of the pizza is expelled from the body. The journey of the pizza through the digestive system is now complete.
