Dragon's Refuge

I was the princess of a powerful kingdom, destined for a political marriage. However, I couldn't bear the thought of marrying a man I didn't love and ran away.

I sought refuge in a forest, deep and untouched. It was there I met the dragon, an ancient beast of immense power.

The dragon, unlike my betrothed, was kind, understanding and wise. We grew close, and in a turn of events I cannot explain, I found myself carrying its offspring.

Unable to return home, I took shelter in an abandoned cottage in the forest. The days were harsh, and food was scarce.

The dragon would bring me food, fruits from trees I couldn't reach, and fresh meat from its hunt. It was my only connection to life outside this forest.

I had no knowledge of dragon pregnancies, but I felt a bond with the unborn creatures inside me. I knew they were growing, and I had to prepare.

I gathered soft moss and dry leaves for bedding and spent my days making the cottage as comfortable as possible for their birth.

The dragon became more protective as the days passed. It would circle the cottage, a silent guardian, watching for any threat.

I would talk to the dragon, tell it about my fears and hopes. It was a silent listener, and in its eyes, I found solace.

As the birth neared, I was consumed by fear. I was alone, save for the dragon, and had no idea what to expect.

The day came, and it was nothing short of terrifying. I was in pain, and fear gripped me, but I knew I had to be strong.

The dragon was there, its eyes filled with worry. It seemed to understand, and its presence gave me the strength to endure.

After hours of agony, I heard the first cries. I looked down and saw a small, scaly creature, its eyes shining with life.

It was a strange sight, a human woman holding a baby dragon. But in that moment, I felt nothing but love for the tiny creature.

More cries filled the air, and I found myself surrounded by three baby dragons. They were beautiful, their scales shimmering like their father's.

The dragon, now a father, watched us with a sense of pride. It was a beautiful moment, a new family born in an unlikely place.

Life in the forest was hard, but I had a new purpose. I was a mother, not just to dragons, but to creatures that needed me.

The baby dragons were curious and playful. They would explore the forest, their tiny wings flapping with excitement.

The dragon would teach them to fly, to hunt, and to protect themselves. I watched as they grew stronger each day.

I taught them kindness and understanding, the same qualities their father showed me. They were becoming a perfect blend of human and dragon.

The seasons changed, and we faced many challenges. But we faced them together, as a family. I realized I was no longer alone.

I was living a life I never imagined, far from the luxuries of my kingdom. But I was happy, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

The dragons grew, and so did I. I had found a new home, a new family. I had found happiness in a forest, trapped yet free.

I was a princess, a mother, and a survivor. I was someone who had defied fate and created a new destiny.

I am the woman who ran away from a political marriage, who got impregnated by a dragon, who survived in a forest, and gave birth to dragons.

I am the woman who found love in the most unlikely places. And I am the woman who found strength in the most challenging times.

And as I gaze at my children, the dragons, I realize that I am not just a survivor. I am a woman who has truly lived.

I am the mother of dragons, the princess of a forgotten kingdom, a woman of strength. And this is my story, the story of the Dragon's Refuge.
