Jack was a poor boy who lived with his mother in a small cottage. They barely had enough to eat, and Jack often dreamed of a better life.

One day, Jack's mother asked him to sell their only cow. 'We need the money, Jack,' she said. 'We can't afford to keep her anymore.'

At the market, Jack met an old man who offered him magic beans in exchange for the cow. Intrigued by the idea of magic, Jack agreed.

When Jack returned home and showed the beans to his mother, she was furious. She threw the beans out of the window and sent Jack to bed without supper.

The next morning, Jack woke up to find a gigantic beanstalk had grown overnight. Without a second thought, he started climbing.

At the top, Jack found a castle floating in the clouds. He crept in, curious about what he would find inside.

Inside, Jack discovered a world of riches and a terrifying giant. The giant had a hen that laid golden eggs and a magical harp.

Jack decided to steal the hen and the harp to save his mother from poverty. However, he had to be careful not to wake the giant.

Jack managed to grab the hen and the harp. But the harp cried out, waking the giant. Jack ran, with the giant following close behind.

Jack scrambled down the beanstalk with the giant thundering after him. As soon as he reached the bottom, he grabbed an axe and chopped down the beanstalk.

The giant fell and vanished, leaving Jack and his mother safe. With the hen that laid golden eggs and the magical harp, they no longer had to worry about poverty.

From then on, Jack and his mother lived happily, never forgetting the adventure in the clouds and the magic that changed their lives forever.
