Once upon a time in a far-off land, there lived an elephant who was very sad because he had no friends. He would often sit under a bridge, all alone, wishing for a friend to play with.

One day, a butterfly fluttered by and noticed the lonely elephant. The butterfly, full of kindness, decided to approach the elephant and offer his friendship. So, he fluttered over and asked the elephant if he'd like to be friends.

On hearing this, the Elephant's face lit up with a broad grin. Ecstatic, he asked the butterfly what they could play together. The butterfly suggested a game of hide and seek and quickly flew away to hide.

The elephant began his search, but the butterfly was nowhere to be found. As he turned around a tree, he was startled by a monstrous creature standing in his way. The elephant froze in fear.

The monster noticed the elephant's fear and quickly reassured him that he meant no harm. The elephant, still trembling, noticed the butterfly wings on the monster's back and couldn't help but ask if he was the butterfly.

The monster confessed that he was indeed the butterfly but had been cursed by a wicked witch who lived far away in the mountains. He was not allowed to reveal his true self to anyone.

The elephant, being kind-hearted, promised to keep the butterfly's secret and offered to help him break the curse. The monster thanked him and together they set off on their journey to find the witch.

Unbeknownst to them, the witch was eavesdropping on their conversation. She smirked wickedly as she devised a plan to turn the elephant into a monster too, just like his new friend.

The elephant and the monster, unaware of the witch's plan, bravely ventured into the mountains. After a long journey, they reached the witch's castle, guarded by flying monkeys.

Suddenly, one of the flying monkeys swooped down and carried the elephant to the witch. The witch sat on her black throne, laughing at the elephant's futile attempts to free his friend.

The elephant, however, was not deterred. He bowed to the witch and declared that he would help his friend, no matter what. He knew that the witch was allergic to water and decided to use this weakness against her.

With a swift movement, he sprayed the witch with water from his trunk. The witch shrieked in surprise as the water soaked her. Suddenly, the monster transformed back into the butterfly, and the flying monkeys turned back into regular monkeys.

It turned out that the castle actually belonged to a monkey king before the witch's curse. Now that the curse was lifted, the castle returned to its rightful owner, and the monkey king was overjoyed.
