Simon Petrikov, known to most as the Ice King, resided in his ice castle, hidden away in the Land of Ooo. Despite his icy facade, he longed for companionship, often misconstrued as a villain due to his weird, yet harmless antics.

Finn the Human and Jake the Dog, were the protectors of Ooo and usually the ones who dealt with Simon's antics. They regarded him more as a friend than a threat, knowing his need for social interaction.

Marceline, the Vampire Queen, and Simon's adoptive daughter, felt bitterness over his transformation into Ice King. She mourned the loss of the man who had once been her caring father-figure.

One day, as Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was trying to engage with Finn $$C_ENC_2$$ and Jake $$C_ENC_3$$, he decided to be their friend instead of trying to kidnap Princess Bubblegum, an action that was fairly usual for him.

As he made this decision, Finn $$C_ENC_2$$ and Jake $$C_ENC_3$$ were amazed at the sudden change in their frenemy. They began to see more of the old Simon within Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$.

Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$, when she heard about this change, was initially dubious. However, she also began to see glimpses of Simon in the Ice King's $$C_ENC_1$$ antics and was, in her own way, relieved.

Finn $$C_ENC_2$$ and Jake $$C_ENC_3$$ started to include Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ more in their adventures. This gave Ice King a sense of belonging, a feeling he had lost when he became the Ice King.

The more time they spent together, the more the line between Simon and the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ blurred. It became increasingly clear that Simon was still there, beneath the surface of the Ice King's craziness.

Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$ began to spend more time with Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ as well. She still missed Simon, but she began to accept Ice King as he was, finding comfort in his continued existence.

Slowly but surely, Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ became less isolated. He formed real friendships with Finn $$C_ENC_2$$, Jake $$C_ENC_3$$, Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$, and even Princess Bubblegum $$C_ENC_5$$. His loneliness began to fade.

Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was still quirky and a bit strange, but he was not alone. He finally felt like he belonged somewhere, with people who cared for him, despite his oddness.

Things weren't always smooth between them. Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ still caused trouble and there were times when his friends had to intervene. However, they always did so out of concern, not malice.

Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ began to remember bits and pieces of his past. He remembered his love for Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$, though not as a daughter. He remembered his love for music, for knowledge and most importantly, for magic.

The Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was still Simon, just not the Simon everyone remembered. He was a new Simon, a crazier, lonelier, but also a happier Simon. He was the Simon who had friends.

Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$ was saddened by this. She missed Simon, her Simon. But she also understood that the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was Simon now, and she had to accept him.

Eventually, they found a way to give Simon his own body, separate from Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$. But doing so would mean the Ice King would disappear forever. It was a tough decision to make.

When Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was told about the plan, he was surprisingly okay with it. He was content with his life, and if disappearing meant that Simon could live, he was ready.

On the day of the process, everyone was there. Finn $$C_ENC_2$$, Jake $$C_ENC_3$$, Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$, and Princess Bubblegum $$C_ENC_5$$. They were there to say their goodbyes to the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$.

The Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$, as always, lightened the mood with his antics. He joked about being a ghost and haunting them, making everyone laugh despite the somber atmosphere.

He thanked Finn $$C_ENC_2$$ and Jake $$C_ENC_3$$, calling them his best friends. He thanked Princess Bubblegum $$C_ENC_5$$ for her patience and Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$ for being there for him when he needed it the most.

When the process started, there was a blinding light. When it faded, Simon Petrikov stood where Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ once was. He looked around in confusion, before recognizing his surroundings.

He recognized Finn $$C_ENC_2$$ and Jake $$C_ENC_3$$, though he was not sure how. He recognized Marceline $$C_ENC_4$$ with a dull ache in his heart. He recognized Princess Bubblegum $$C_ENC_5$$ as a figure of authority.

But the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was nowhere. Simon Petrikov, the man who was once the Ice King, looked around for his old self. He was gone, but not forgotten.

They tried to explain things to Simon. They told him about the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ and how he had lived his life for years. About his friends, his antics, and the singular life he had lived.

Simon was, understandably, confused. But he listened, taking in every word. He felt a sense of loss, but also a strange sense of peace. He had lived, even if he couldn't remember how.

Simon Petrikov was back, but the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was not forgotten. His friends remembered him, his love for them, and his crazy antics. He was not there, but he was not gone either.

In his own way, the Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ had touched the lives of everyone he had come across. He had given them memories, laughter, and more importantly, friendship.

The Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was, in the end, just a lonely man trying to make friends. And he had succeeded. He had friends who loved him and remembered him, even when he was no longer there.

The melancholy magic of Ice King $$C_ENC_1$$ was his ability to make friends despite all odds. His ability to live on, in the heart of those who knew him, even though he was no longer physically present.

He was the Ice King, the eccentric friend, the magic maker. He was Simon Petrikov, the kind man, the caring father-figure. But most importantly, he was a friend. And he would always be remembered as one.
