Once upon a time, there were three brothers: Martin Cachiporras, Juan Alberjas, and Juan Frijol. Orphaned and poor, they decided to leave their village and make a home in the distant mountains.

The brothers reached the mountains and started their new life. They divided the chores amongst themselves. One day, while Juan Frijol stayed back to cook, he encountered a beast unlike any other.

Suddenly, a three-headed serpent appeared, demanding Juan Frijol's food or his life. Terrified, Juan offered up the food. The serpent devoured the meal and vanished, leaving the brothers hungry.

On the following day, the same fate befell Juan Alberjas. The serpent appeared again and devoured the food. The brothers could only watch as their meals vanished two days in a row.

On the third day, Martin Cachiporras, armed with his father's iron mace, stood against the beast. The serpent demanded food or life, but Martin struck it, making the serpent flee, and the brothers finally ate.

Determined to end their plight, the brothers decided to follow the serpent. They trailed it through the mountains, but the serpent was always one step ahead, forcing them deeper into the wilderness.

In the heart of the mountain, the brothers discovered a deep hole. One by one, they descended into the abyss, promising to signal if they needed help.

When it was Martin's turn to descend, he didn't signal for a long time. The brothers waited anxiously for their elder brother's sign.

Inside the hole, Martin found a palace, empty except for a princess. She told him about the serpent, how it had devoured her kin, and she was the only one left.

Martin returned to his brothers with the princess's tale. United, they resolved to defeat the serpent and reclaim the kingdom for the princess.

The brothers devised a plan. They lured the serpent out, and with a swift strike from Martin's mace, they defeated the beast, freeing the mountain from its terror.

With the serpent defeated, the brothers returned the kingdom to the princess. Grateful, she offered them a home in her kingdom. The brothers accepted, finally finding a place they could call home.
