The quaint town of Bhilai held a secret within its heart - the '32 Bungalows'. The senior officers of the Steel Plant resided here, their lives intertwined with the rhythm of the Steel Plant. Among these 32 houses, Bungalow 26 stood out. Its silence was eerie, and a strange gloom seemed to have settled over it.

Mr. Verma, a senior officer, had recently been transferred to Bhilai and was allotted Bungalow 26. The stories of hauntings did not deter him. He was a pragmatic man who did not believe in the supernatural.

The first few days were uneventful. Mr. Verma settled into his new home, immersing himself in his work. The house was large, but he felt an unsettling loneliness. He dismissed it as the discomfort of a new place.

One night, as he sat reading in his study, he heard a soft knock on the door. He went to check but found no one. A chill ran down his spine, but he shrugged it off as a figment of his imagination.

The knocks became frequent, and Mr. Verma started noticing other strange occurrences. Doors creaked open on their own, lights flickered, and he felt a constant gaze on him. His pragmatism was slowly giving way to fear.

One evening, Mr. Verma saw a woman standing in the garden. Her ethereal beauty was captivating, yet there was a sadness in her eyes. She disappeared as he approached her, leaving him puzzled and terrified.

He started inquiring about the history of Bungalow 26. The old caretaker revealed that a woman had lived there who had died under mysterious circumstances. Her spirit was believed to haunt the house.

Mr. Verma was now convinced that the house was haunted. His nights were sleepless, filled with fear and anxiety. Despite his fear, he decided to confront the spirit and find out what it wanted.

One night, he waited for the woman to appear. She appeared in the garden as usual, her eyes filled with an indescribable sadness. Gathering his courage, he approached her and asked what she wanted.

She revealed herself as Meera, the wife of a previous officer. She had been murdered and her death was made to look like an accident. Her spirit was bound to the bungalow till her death was avenged.

Mr. Verma was taken aback. He promised Meera that he would bring her justice. The next day, he began investigating her death, uncovering a web of deceit and betrayal that shook him to the core.

After months of investigation and with the help of local authorities, Mr. Verma was able to expose the truth behind Meera's death. Her husband had murdered her out of greed for her property.

Her husband was prosecuted and sent to jail. Justice was served, and Mr. Verma felt a sense of accomplishment. But he wondered if this would put Meera's spirit to rest.

That night, Meera appeared to him again. This time, her eyes were not sad but filled with gratitude. She thanked him and then disappeared, never to be seen again.

The haunting of Bungalow 26 ceased. Mr. Verma continued to live there, the memory of Meera's haunting eyes forever imprinted on his mind. The tale of Bungalow 26 became a legend in Bhilai, reminding everyone of the justice served.
