Remy and Emile, the rodent residents of the penthouse, had recently started a successful detective agency. Despite their small size, their sharp wit and keen eyes for detail made them excellent detectives.

Recently, they noticed something strange. The human residents of the building were disappearing one by one. Every day, another person was gone. The rodents decided to investigate.

They decided to follow one of the people. They trailed behind, unnoticed, as the person moved out. They observed the person's actions and listened to conversations, hoping to learn something.

Outside, Remy and Emile heard the person talking to the moving crew. The person expressed distaste for rats and relief about leaving the building. This struck a chord with the rats.

They continued their surveillance and noticed a common theme. Everyone was complaining about the rats in the building. The people were leaving voluntarily because they didn't like rats.

Remy and Emile returned to their penthouse, feeling a mix of relief and sadness. They had solved the mystery, but the truth was hard to accept.

They realized that their presence was the reason for the departures. They had unknowingly driven the residents away. This was a blow to their pride as detectives.
