It was a crisp afternoon and Liam, the school's jock, was seated alone in a coffee shop. His mind full of thoughts about the boy he missed, Zeke.

Liam was athletic, always on the move. At school, he was the star of the football team. But here, in the quiet of the café, he was just a boy with a letter to write.

He pulled out a sheet of paper and a pen. He had never written a letter like this before, but he felt it was the best way to voice his thoughts and feelings.

His muscles were tense as he wrote the first line, 'Dear Zeke,'. How can someone describe in words what they miss about a person?

He remembered how Zeke's eyes sparkled when he talked about the things he loved. His passion for books, the way he could spend hours discussing his favorite authors.

'I miss our talks,' he wrote, remembering their conversations that lasted till late in the night. How Zeke's voice would lull him into a peaceful sleep.

He recalled Zeke's ever-present smile, the kind that could lighten anyone's mood. The memory of it brought a smile to his own face as he wrote.

'Your smile,' he jotted down, 'the way it could brighten even my darkest days.'. He missed that smile, the comfort it brought him.

He remembered the way Zeke's face would light up when he'd answer a question right in class. His excitement was always contagious, making every moment spent with him enjoyable.

'Your enthusiasm,' he wrote next, 'it's something I admire about you.'. It was true, Liam admired Zeke's passion for learning and his insatiable curiosity about the world.

He thought about the warmth of Zeke's hand in his. How they'd walk home together, talking about everything and nothing. That sense of companionship, he missed that the most.

'Your companionship,' he wrote simply. It encapsulated the bond they shared, the camaraderie, and the comfort of being with someone who understands you.

Liam realized it wasn't just the individual aspects he missed, but the whole of Zeke. He missed his friend, his confidante, his partner in crime.

'I miss you, Zeke.' He wrote, his heart heavy with longing. He missed his friend, he missed the laughter they shared, he missed their moments together.

He remembered their plan to conquer high school together. Zeke with his brain and him with his brawn. It was a perfect match, but it was incomplete without Zeke.

He looked at the letter, filled with his thoughts, his feelings. He folded it neatly, placed it in an envelope, and wrote 'Zeke' on the front.

With a sigh, he put the letter in his bag. Tomorrow, he decided, he'd give it to Zeke. Tomorrow, he'd let Zeke know just how much he meant to him.

He left the coffee shop, his heart lighter than it had been when he'd arrived. Because he knew he'd taken the first step in expressing his feelings.

That night, Liam lay in bed, his mind full of memories of Zeke. He hoped Zeke felt the same way, that he was also missing him.

The morning came, and with it, a sense of anticipation. Liam dressed up, picked up the letter, and headed to school. Today, he'd tell Zeke what he felt.

He walked into the school, his eyes scanning the hallway for Zeke. He spotted him, standing by his locker, his head buried in a book, as always.

Liam approached Zeke, his palms sweaty, his heart racing. He handed Zeke the letter, their fingers touching briefly, causing a spark that only he felt.

Zeke looked up, surprised. He took the letter, his eyes questioning. Liam only nodded, unable to find the words to explain.

Zeke opened the letter, his eyes scanning the words. As he read, his expression changed. Surprise, confusion, realization, and then, a smile.

Zeke looked up at Liam, his smile wide and genuine. He placed a hand on Liam's arm, a simple touch, but it conveyed everything Liam needed to know.

'I missed you too, Liam.' Zeke said, hugging the letter close to his chest. In those words, Liam found his answer. He found the reciprocation he had been hoping for.

They walked to class together, their bond sealed with a piece of paper and a confession of feelings. High school wasn't so daunting now, not with Zeke by his side.

As they sat down together, Liam realized high school would never be the same. But it was a change he welcomed, a change he looked forward to.

Because now, he had Zeke. His friend, his confidante, his partner in crime. And maybe, just maybe, his partner in heart.

At the end of the day, when the bell rang, Liam found himself not dreading the idea of going home. Because he knew he wouldn't be alone.

He'd be going home with Zeke, their hands held together, their hearts understood. A simple letter had bridged the gap, had brought them closer.

And as they left the school, walking home together, Liam knew he had taken a step towards a future that was brighter, warmer, and complete with Zeke.

It wasn't just about missing anymore, it was about cherishing. Each moment, each memory, each conversation was now a treasure, shared with Zeke.

That's how Liam's love story began, not with a grand gesture, but with a simple letter. A letter that expressed his longing, his love for Zeke.

And so, their high school adventure continued, but not as two separate individuals. Instead, they were united by a shared connection, a bond of friendship and love.
