Lost in Regression

It was a usual night for David when he made an eccentric wish. He desired to relive his childhood, to escape the burdens of adult responsibilities.

As he fell asleep, the wish seemed no more than a fleeting thought. But when he awoke, everything had changed. He found himself in a crib, dressed in baby clothes.

Confused, David inspected his surroundings. His adult body was awkwardly stuffed into a onesie, a pacifier was in his mouth, and a baby rattle was in his hand.

He tried to stand up, but his legs wobbled as if they had forgotten how to support his weight. He fell back down, feeling a squishy sensation from his diaper.

He called out in shock, his voice muffled by the pacifier. It was then he noticed his wife, Jenny, approaching him with a warm baby bottle in hand.

Jenny cooed at him, treating him like a newborn. David was bewildered by this, not understanding why his wife was acting this way.

He tried to protest, but his words were babyish gurgles. Jenny seemed to find this endearing and urged him to drink from the bottle.

He reluctantly took a sip, realizing the bottle was filled with a laxative mixture. David felt his stomach churn and his diaper became even more soiled.

Overwhelmed, David began to cry. He felt helpless, stuck in an absurd situation that was beyond his understanding.

Jenny comforted him, humming a lullaby as she rocked the crib. Despite his predicament, David felt a strange sense of security and drifted back to sleep.

The next morning, David woke up hoping that everything had been a bizarre dream. But the crib, the baby clothes, and the soiled diaper were all too real.

Days turned into weeks. David was fed, bathed, and even had his diapers changed by Jenny. He was living as a baby, reliant on his wife for everything.

He struggled with his new reality, the monotony of his daily routine causing frustration. Yet, he noticed that his stress levels were significantly reduced.

He began to understand the true essence of his wish. He had desired a break from his responsibilities, and now he got it in its most literal form.

With time, David adapted to his new life. He learned to communicate with Jenny through gestures, and even found joy in simple things like playing with his rattle.

One day, while playing with his rattle, he made another wish. He wished to return to his normal life, to be the husband Jenny deserved.

The next morning, David awoke in his own bed, wearing his usual clothes. He could stand, talk, and was free from the constraints of his previous condition.

He ran to Jenny, hugging her tightly. He apologized for his eccentric wish and promised to never take his adult responsibilities for granted again.

Jenny laughed, telling him that she had enjoyed taking care of him. But she was happy to have her husband back and not just a big baby.

From that day, David embraced his life with newfound appreciation. He found joy in his work, his responsibilities, and most importantly, in his relationship with Jenny.

He remembered his time as a baby with a mix of humor and embarrassment. But it served as a reminder of the value of his adult life.

David learned a valuable lesson through his experience. He realized that while responsibilities could be burdensome, they were also a significant part of being an adult.

He understood that escaping from them was not the answer. Instead, finding balance and enjoyment in fulfilling them was the key to a happy life.

David's story is a reminder to us all. While the pressures of adulthood can be overwhelming, we should remember to appreciate the independence and capabilities that come with it.

And most importantly, it reminds us to be careful what we wish for. Because sometimes, wishes do come true, and they may not be what we expected.
