It was a bright Monday afternoon when the mail arrived. Among the usual bills and advertisements was a peculiar envelope, stamped with the official IRS seal.

As Angry Grandpa picked up the envelope, his hands trembled slightly. His eyes squinted to read the sender's information, and a gasp escaped his lips. The IRS!

He tore open the envelope in a frenzy, his eyes scanning the contents. His face grew pale as he read the words "audit" and "immediate payment."

Angry Grandpa's heart pounded in his chest. He had always been diligent with his taxes, never missing a payment. How could this be happening?

Suddenly, the phone rang, jolting him from his thoughts. The caller ID displayed "IRS." He picked up the phone, his voice trembling as he answered.

The voice on the other end confirmed his worst fears. They were calling about the letter. Angry Grandpa's anger began to rise, his face turning red.

"This is ridiculous!" he shouted into the phone, his voice echoing through the house. His family, who had been watching in silence, exchanged worried glances.

His son, Mike, tried to calm him down. "Dad, let's not jump to conclusions. It could be a mistake," he suggested, reaching for the letter.

But Angry Grandpa was not in a listening mood. He swatted Mike's hand away, his eyes blazing. "They're trying to rob me!" he exclaimed.

Mike's wife, Jenny, tried to intervene. "Let's call our accountant," she suggested, trying to bring some reason into the chaotic situation.

But Angry Grandpa was beyond reasoning. He was pacing around the room, venting his frustration. "I won't stand for this!" he declared.

All the while, Mike's children watched the spectacle from a distance. They knew their grandfather was notorious for his temper, but this was something else.

Suddenly, a mischievous glint appeared in Mike's eye. He motioned to his wife and children, signaling them to leave the room. He had a plan.

Mike reentered the room, his face serious. "Dad, I think we should read the letter again. Maybe there's something we missed," he suggested.

Angry Grandpa hesitated, then handed the letter over. As Mike read, a slow grin spread across his face. "Dad, you won't believe this..."

Mike pointed to a tiny line of text at the bottom. "This letter is a prank. Gotcha, Grandpa!" it read. Angry Grandpa was stunned.

His anger momentarily replaced with disbelief, Angry Grandpa stared at his son. "A prank?" he repeated, his voice barely a whisper.

Jenny and the kids reentered the room, grinning. "Gotcha, Grandpa!" they chorused, dissolving into laughter. The room was filled with relief.

Angry Grandpa looked at his laughing family, his face a mix of relief and indignation. "You scared me half to death!" he exclaimed.

"And you scared us with your temper, Grandpa!" Mike's eldest son retorted, his laughter subsiding. The family shared a moment of humor.

Even Angry Grandpa couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, I guess you got me good," he admitted, shaking his head in disbelief.

Mike clapped his father on the back. "All in good fun, Dad. We just wanted to see that famous temper of yours," he said, grinning.

"Well, you certainly saw it," Angry Grandpa grumbled, though there was a smile on his face. "You kids and your pranks!"

The family spent the rest of the day reminiscing about other pranks they had pulled over the years. The mood was light and cheerful.

As the day ended, Angry Grandpa looked around at his family. "Alright, no more pranks," he warned, but his eyes were twinkling.

"Promise, Grandpa," Mike's youngest daughter said, crossing her heart. But her mischievous grin hinted otherwise. It was a promise made to be broken.

And so, the day ended with laughter and good-hearted teasing. Despite the initial scare, it was a day that Angry Grandpa would remember fondly.

After all, it was these moments of joy and togetherness that made a family. And Angry Grandpa wouldn't have it any other way.

As the family retired for the night, Mike caught Angry Grandpa's eye. They shared a smile, a silent promise of more pranks to come.

For Angry Grandpa, it was a day filled with fear, anger, and finally, laughter. A day when his family reminded him of the joy in life.

And even though the prank had given him quite a scare, he wouldn't trade it for anything. After all, it was all in the spirit of family fun.

So, as Angry Grandpa settled in for the night, he couldn't help but chuckle to himself. His family, he thought, they sure knew how to keep an old man on his toes.

And as he drifted off to sleep, he thought of the day's events. A smile lingered on his face. It was a good day, indeed.

The IRS prank, as it came to be known, would go down in family history. A tale to be shared, laughed over, and remembered for years to come.

And Angry Grandpa, the star of the prank, would always be remembered for his legendary temper and the laughter it brought to his family.
