Two young girls, Amy and Lisa, were known for their breathtaking beauty but not so much for their intelligence. Their blonde hair gleamed like spun gold, and their bright blue eyes sparkled with life. Yet, conversations with them were often filled with senseless exchanges and silly giggles.

One day, they decided to participate in a local theater production. They enthusiastically chose to be the pantomime horse, with Amy as the front and Lisa as the back.

"Amy, you've got the costume upside down!" Lisa exclaimed, her laughter making her words come out in gasps.

"No, you've got your end upside down!" Amy retaliated, her own giggles echoing Lisa's. Their laughter filled the dressing room, indicating their sheer joy in the absurdity of their task.

After a lot of silliness and fussing, they finally managed to get into the costume correctly. Standing up, they looked at themselves in the mirror.

"Look at us, Lisa! We make a pretty horse, don't we?" Amy said, giggling at their reflection.

"Oh, yes! We're the most beautiful horse ever!" Lisa agreed, laughing along with Amy.

But as they looked at themselves in the mirror, something strange began to happen. Their laughter faded, their eyes narrowed, and a thoughtful expression replaced their previously empty smiles.

"Amy, isn't it peculiar how we're two separate beings, yet as this horse, we're perceived as one?" Lisa asked, her voice unexpectedly serious.

Amy, equally serious, replied, "Yes, it's quite fascinating how perception can alter reality. It all depends on how one chooses to see."

They continued to discuss various topics, their conversation suddenly rich with insight, understanding, and intellect. The air around them seemed to change as they spoke, their words revealing new depths to their previously shallow personalities.

The other actors and actresses watched in surprise as Amy and Lisa carried on their profound discussion. The girls, once considered the theater's pretty but dumb duo, were now engaging in intellectual conversations.

Amy looked at Lisa, a newfound wisdom in her blue eyes. "Isn't it strange that we needed to become a horse to realize we're more than just pretty faces?" She asked.

Lisa nodded, understanding. "Perhaps it's because we were forced to cooperate, to think as one rather than just focusing on ourselves. It's a valuable lesson."

They spent the rest of the evening engaged in meaningful conversations, proving their wit and intelligence to everyone around them. It was as if they had unlocked a part of themselves that had been hidden all along.

The play was a huge success, but Amy and Lisa stole the show. Everyone was amazed by their transformation, their charm now accompanied by sharp intellect. It was as if the horse costume had some magical powers.

However, after the show, when they took off the pantomime horse costume, they returned to their old selves - pretty, giggly, and not so smart. But they remembered the insights they had inside the costume and smiled at each other.

"That was fun, wasn't it, Amy?" asked Lisa as if nothing unusual had happened.

"Yeah, Lisa! We should do it again," Amy replied, her words filled with her usual cheerful simplicity.

However, they both knew that this horse adventure had shown them a side of themselves they never knew existed. It was an experience they would cherish forever.

"Lisa, do you think we were smarter because we wore the horse costume?" asked Amy, her voice full of curiosity.

"I don't think so, Amy. I think it made us realize that we're not just pretty faces. We have brains too, and we should use them," Lisa replied.

Amy smiled at Lisa, a hint of understanding in her eyes. "I agree, Lisa. We're not just pretty. We're smart too."

The girls laughed, a new spark of intelligence lighting up their eyes. They knew they had learned something valuable that day - they were much more than just pretty faces. They were smart, too.

From that day forward, Amy and Lisa were not just seen as pretty girls but also as smart girls. They had proven to themselves and everyone around them that beauty and brains can indeed go hand in hand.

They cherished their experience with the pantomime horse costume. Not because it had made them smart, but because it had helped them realize their potential. It was an experience that truly transformed them.

And whenever they encountered a difficult situation, they would remember their time as a horse. It reminded them that they could be more than just pretty, they could be smart and capable, too.

And so, Amy and Lisa, the two pretty but once dumb girls, discovered a newfound intelligence within them, all thanks to a pantomime horse costume. And they lived with this newfound wisdom for the rest of their lives.

The pantomime horse costume was kept safely in their shared closet, not just as a reminder of a fun time but also of an eye-opening realization. A reminder that there was more to them than meets the eye.

Their story spread throughout their town, inspiring other girls. It was a testament to the fact that beauty and intelligence are not mutually exclusive. One can be both pretty and smart, just like Amy and Lisa.

And so, the story of Amy and Lisa, the pretty but once dumb girls who turned smart, lives on. A tale about beauty, brains, and a magical pantomime horse costume. A tale about the power of self-discovery.

Became a story to be told, a story to inspire, a story to remind everyone that beauty and brains can coexist. And above all, a story that teaches one to never underestimate oneself.

Amy and Lisa, the pretty but once dumb girls, remained best friends forever, and more importantly, they remained eager to learn and grow. They knew they were smart, and they made sure everyone else knew it too.

And every time they looked at their pantomime horse costume, they would remember that they are much more than just pretty faces, that they are also smart and capable young women.

And so, the story of Amy and Lisa, the pretty but once dumb girls who became smart, continues to inspire and teach. Just like the girls, their story is pretty but far from dumb.
