At first, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth had no shape and was empty, and darkness covered the deep waters. Then God said: "Let there be light," and there was light.

On the second day, God created the sky to separate the waters above and below. He called the sky "sky". And so it was the second day.

On the third day, God gathered the waters under the sky into one place and made the dry land appear. He created the plants and trees.

On the fourth day, God created the sun, the moon, and the stars to light the earth and to mark the seasons, days, and years.

On the fifth day, God created the fish of the sea and the birds of the sky. He blessed them and said: "Be fruitful and multiply".

On the sixth day, God created all the animals that live on the earth. Then, He created man in His image and likeness.

God blessed the man and the woman and gave them the earth to rule. He told them to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth.

On the seventh day, God rested from all the work He had done. He blessed the seventh day and made it sacred, for it was the day He rested from all His work of creation.

God placed the man and the woman in the Garden of Eden to take care of it. He gave them all the plants and fruits to eat, except the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

The snake, more cunning than all the animals in the field, deceived the woman into eating the forbidden fruit. The woman gave the fruit to the man, who also ate.

When God discovered that the man and the woman had eaten the forbidden fruit, He expelled them from the Garden of Eden. They had to work hard to survive.

Many years later, God called a man named Noah to build a large ark. God told Noah that He would send a great flood to cleanse the earth of evil.

Noah and his family worked hard to build the ark. They also gathered a pair of each type of animal to take on the ark.

When the flood came, Noah, his family, and the animals were safe in the ark. It rained for forty days and forty nights, and all the earth was covered with water.

Finally, the waters receded and the ark landed on a mountain. Noah, his family, and the animals came out of the ark to a new and clean land.

God made a promise to Noah and all mankind that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood. As a sign of this promise, He put a rainbow in the sky.

Years later, God called a man named Abraham to leave his home and go to a land that God would show him. God promised to make Abraham a great nation.

Abraham trusted God and obeyed. He went to the land of Canaan with his wife Sarah and his nephew Lot.

God blessed Abraham and Sarah with a son named Isaac, even though they were very old. God promised that Abraham's offspring would be as numerous as the stars in the sky.

Isaac, Abraham's son, grew up and became the father of two sons, Esau and Jacob. However, a twist occurred in their story when Jacob, using cunning, managed to receive the blessing that originally belonged to Esau, the firstborn.

Jacob ran away from Esau and married Rachel. God changed Jacob's name to Israel, and he had twelve sons, who became the twelve tribes of Israel.

Israel's favorite son was Joseph, who was sold by his jealous brothers into slavery in Egypt. But God was with Joseph, and he became an important man in Egypt.

During a great famine, Joseph's brothers went to Egypt to buy food. Joseph forgave his brothers and brought his entire family to Egypt.

Israel's family grew into a great nation in Egypt, but they were made slaves. God called Moses to lead the people of Israel out of slavery.

Moses confronted the Pharaoh of Egypt and, with God's help, performed miracles. Finally, the Pharaoh let the people of Israel go.

God opened the Red Sea so that the people of Israel could cross on dry land. When the Pharaoh's army tried to follow them, the waters returned and swallowed them.

In the desert, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments for the people of Israel. They built a tabernacle to worship God.

After forty years in the desert, the people of Israel entered the promised land under the leadership of Joshua. They conquered the land and settled there.

For many years, judges led the people of Israel. Then, they asked for a king, and God gave them King Saul, then King David, and then King Solomon.

King Solomon built a beautiful temple to worship God in Jerusalem. But after Solomon, the kingdom split into Israel and Judah.

The people of Israel and Judah often forgot God and worshiped idols. God sent prophets to call them back to Him, but they often did not listen.

Finally, God allowed the people of Israel and Judah to be taken captive by foreign nations. But He promised that one day He would send a Savior to rescue them.

The Savior is Jesus, the Son of God. He was born of a virgin in Bethlehem, grew up in Nazareth, and began to teach people about the Kingdom of God.

Jesus performed many miracles, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and even raising the dead. He showed God's love to everyone he met.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins, but He rose from the dead. He returned to heaven, but promised that one day He would return to create a new heaven and a new earth.
