The Curious Case of the Missing Chappal

Ramu, a simple and kind-hearted man, ambled along the path, his mind occupied with the day's events. Clad in a faded kurta and his trusty chappals, he headed home after a long day of work. As he approached his small, modest house, something caught his eye—a lone chappal lying at his doorstep.
"Ah, my chappal has returned!" he exclaimed, picking it up with a mix of relief and joy. He recalled wearing both chappals earlier that day and wondered how one had ended up here. Shrugging off his confusion, he entered his home, his thoughts still lingering on the peculiar occurrence.
"This is strange! How do my chappals keep coming back?" he pondered aloud, scratching his head. Intrigued by the mystery, Ramu decided to conduct an experiment. He hurled the chappals a few meters away and waited, peering through a crack in his window.
To his astonishment, the chappals began to shuffle back towards the house, as if guided by an invisible force. "They must be magical!" Ramu declared, his heart filled with wonder. Convinced of their enchantment, he began treating the chappals with reverence, setting them on a small altar and offering them milk each day.
"What are you up to, Ramu?" she asked, approaching him with a teasing smile. Ramu explained the mystery of his returning chappals, his eyes shining with excitement. Maya chuckled, "Oh, Ramu! It's not magic. It's my cat, Mittens. She loves playing with shoes and has been dragging them back to your door!"
He burst into laughter, realizing the truth behind the so-called magic. "So that's the secret, a playful kitty!" he said, shaking his head in amusement. Though his chappals weren't magical, Ramu felt a warmth in his heart, understanding that sometimes, the simplest of things could feel extraordinary through the lens of belief and imagination.
