Jack, a humble farmer’s youngest son, hurries along the path, a basket of eggs balanced on his arm. His patched clothes flap in the gentle breeze as he greets passing neighbors. "Good morning, Mrs. Willow! Need any fresh eggs today?"
Jack ventures into the woods, searching for wild berries to sell at the market. As he rounds a bend, he stumbles upon an old woman cloaked in tattered shawls, resting beneath a sprawling tree. The Old Woman: Kind, mysterious, with sparkling eyes that hint at hidden wisdom. "Young man, could you spare me a bit of bread? I've not eaten in days,"
Jack offers his lunch without hesitation, earning a grateful smile from the Old Woman. "You have a kind heart, Jack. Take this goose and care for it well. One day, it shall bring you joy beyond measure," she whispers. Jack cradles the goose, puzzled but hopeful.
Jack awakes to a gasp as he discovers a gleaming golden egg beside the goose. His eyes grow wide with disbelief. "Could this truly be real? A golden egg… every morning?"
"If we take the goose, we’ll be rich forever! Let’s not waste time," Edwin urges, but as they touch the goose, their hands stick fast to its golden feathers. One by one, curious villagers try to help, only to be stuck together in a comical chain.
"Let’s remember: greed only brings trouble, but kindness brings true fortune," Jack says, his smile as golden as the morning light. The golden goose settles beside him, and from that day on, Jack shares his good fortune with all, his heart and home forever filled with joy.
