Little Amina lived in a small village near the savannah. She loved playing near the old baobab tree, the pride of their land.

One evening, Baba, the village elder, found Amina staring at the baobab tree. 'Do you know why our tree is so special, Amina?' he asked.

Amina shook her head. Baba smiled and began to tell the story of the great baobab tree.

'Long ago,' Baba began, 'the baobab was the most beautiful tree of all. It was vain and unkind to the other trees.'

'The gods, to teach it humility, uprooted the baobab and planted it upside down. That’s why it looks like it has roots in the air.'

Amina listened carefully. 'So the baobab is a reminder to not be arrogant and unkind?' she asked. Baba nodded, proud of her understanding.

'But that's not all, Amina,' Baba continued. 'The baobab is also a symbol of strength, resilience, and life.'

'Despite its harsh lesson, the baobab thrived. It provides shade, food, and shelter. It supports life even in the driest seasons.'

'So, it also teaches us to be strong and helpful no matter what happens?' Amina asked, her eyes wide with wonder. 'Exactly, my child,' Baba answered.

Amina, inspired by the story, promised to be humble, resilient, and kind, just like the great baobab tree.
