Who has ever heard of an alligator that loved apples? It's strange but in the heart of a dense swamp, lived a jovial alligator named Annie. She had a peculiar habit. Unlike those that loved to eat meat, Annie loved to feast on ripe, juicy apples.

Every day, she would settle by the riverbank, right beside a big apple tree. She would watch with eager eyes as the colony of ants carried fallen apples towards her.

One sunny afternoon, she noticed a tall burly man approaching the apple tree. He held a huge axe over his shoulder and looked stern.

Before Annie the Alligator could understand what was happening, he began to chop down the apple tree. With each thud of the axe, Annie the Alligator's heart sank deeper.

As soon as the man left, Annie the Alligator had tears in her eyes. She was devastated. She mourned the loss of her apple tree - the only source of her favorite food.

Despite her sadness, Annie the Alligator knew she needed to find another way to satisfy her hunger. She did not want any meat so she decided to set off in search of another apple tree.

She swam through the murky waters. She explored the different parts of the swamp that she had never been to. Alas! She could hardly spot any apple trees. Annie the Alligator did not give up. Although her journey was long and tiring, her determination remained unwavering.

After several days of searching, Annie the Alligator finally spotted a tree with bright red apples hanging from its branches. The sight filled her with joy and hope.

But there was a problem. This tree was on a hill, far from the river. It was impossible for the ants to carry the apples to her like they used to.

Annie the Alligator was disheartened, but she didn't lose hope. She thought hard and finally came up with a brilliant plan. She would ask her friend, Benny the Beaver, for help.

Annie the Alligator found Benny the Beaver busy at work building a dam. She explained her problem and asked if he could help her get the apples down from the tree.

Benny the Beaver agreed to help. They set off towards the apple tree, with Benny the Beaver carrying his toolkit. Annie the Alligator was hopeful again. Herr scales began glimmering in the sun as she lay still in the water and watched him.

Benny the Beaver worked tirelessly, crafting a wooden slide from the hill to the river. Meanwhile, Annie the alligator watched in anticipation. Her heart was filled with gratitude.

Once the slide was ready, Benny the Beaver climbed up the tree and began to push the apples down the slide. They rolled down the hill, straight into the river.

Annie the Alligator watched in delight as the apples floated towards her. She couldn't contain her joy and started to munch on the juicy and crunchy apples.

Benny the Beaver was happy to see her so happy. He felt proud that he was able to help his friend. With eyes gleaming with happiness, she thanked Benny the Beaver.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Ann continued to enjoy her daily feast of apples, all thanks to Benny's ingenious solution.

Meanwhile, Benny was hailed as a hero among the swamp animals. His selfless act of helping a friend in need made him very popular among them.

Annie the Alligator on the otherhand, learned a valuable lesson from her journey. Even in the face of adversity, she learnt never to give up. She learnt that determination and the help of a good friend can help anyone overcome any problem.

The swamp continued to thrive with life, and Annie's story became a legend. She was no longer just an alligator who loved apples, but an alligator who never gave up.

And so, Annie the Alligator lived happily in the swamp, enjoying her apples by the river. Every time she bit into an apple, she was reminded of her journey and her dear friend, Benny the Beaver.

Benny's wooden slide became a symbol of friendship and resilience in the swamp. The two friends remained inseparable. Their bond was strengthened by their shared adventure.

In the end, Annie the Alligator realized that in her search for her favourite fruit, she had gained something much more valuable - an unbreakable friendship and a tale of courage that would be told for generations.
