The Thirsty Rose

Once upon a time, in a distant desert, there was a beautiful red rose who took pride in her exquisite appearance and always boasted about it. The only distress for the rose was growing next to an ugly cactus.

Every day, the beautiful rose would mock the cactus and tell it that it would be better off not growing alongside such ugliness. The cactus remained silent, but other animals and plants were upset because they thought the rose had become too proud of her appearance.

One scorching summer day, water became scarce for the plants, and they were all thirsty. The rose quickly began to wither. Her beautiful petals dried up, losing their vibrant color.

The other plants didn't speak to her and didn't help her. They were too consumed with their own survival. The desert was becoming harsher, and the water was running out.

At that moment, the thirsty rose looked at the cactus and saw birds dipping their beaks into the cactus to drink some water. She was surprised and didn't understand what was happening.

The rose asked the cactus if she could have some water with its help. The kind cactus looked at the thirsty rose, who was on the brink of drying up.

The cactus felt sorry for the rose. It knew that despite her pride and arrogance, she was a part of the desert just like it was. So, the cactus agreed to share its water.

The rose was relieved and grateful. She drank the water that the cactus provided and slowly, her petals started to regain their vibrant color.

The rose learned a valuable lesson that day. She realized that every being has its usefulness, and appearance isn't everything. She thanked the cactus for its kindness and help.

From that day on, the rose never mocked the cactus again. Instead, they became good friends. They grew together in the desert, helping each other and living in harmony.
