The Clever Crow

It was a blistering hot day. The sun was blaring down, and the land was parched. A lone crow, black as the night, was fluttering here and there in search of water. It was thirsty, and every moment seemed like an eternity to him.

The crow's search seemed futile. Everywhere it looked, it saw nothing but the dry, barren land. The little pools of water that once quenched its thirst were now nothing but empty crevices.

Suddenly, the crow's keen eyes spotted something. It was a pot, half buried in the sand. The crow swooped down with a spark of hope in its eyes, only to find very little water at the bottom of the pot.

The water was too far down for the crow to reach. It tried to tilt the pot, but the pot was too heavy. The crow sat there, pondering over its predicament.

Suddenly, an idea flashed in the crow's mind. It had seen pebbles lying around. The crow thought if it dropped enough pebbles into the pot, the water level would rise.

The crow started collecting pebbles, one by one. It then dropped them into the pot, watching as each pebble made the water level rise a little. The crow continued this task with determination.

Finally, after what seemed like hours, the water level had risen enough for the crow to drink. It dipped its beak into the water and drank heartily. The cool water quenched its thirst, and it felt revitalized.

The crow looked around. It had turned a hopeless situation into a victory through its cleverness. It felt a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Then, with a squawk of joy, the crow spread its wings. It took one last look at the pot and the scattered pebbles before flying off. The hot day was a little more bearable now that its thirst was quenched.

As it soared high in the sky, the crow took one last glance at the pot. It had taught itself a valuable lesson that day - that with a bit of ingenuity and determination, one can overcome even the most challenging situations.

From that day onwards, the crow was known among its peers as the clever crow. It was respected and admired, and its story was told to young crows as a lesson in resourcefulness and determination.

And so, the clever crow flew away, leaving behind a pot, some pebbles, and a story of wisdom and resourcefulness. The tale of its cleverness became a beacon of hope and a symbol of resilience for all the creatures in the land.
