    Peter was playing in the playground when he saw a police car pass by. He wondered what policemen do all day.

    When he got home, he asked his mom about it. She smiled and decided to take him to the police station the next day to learn more.

    At the police station, they met Officer Mike who warmly welcomed them. He decided to give them a tour of the station.

    Officer Mike showed Peter the dispatch center where calls for help are received. Peter was amazed at how quickly the officers responded to the calls.

    Next, they visited the evidence room filled with all sorts of things from crimes that had been solved. Peter was intrigued by the items.

    Officer Mike also introduced Peter to a police dog. Peter was excited to learn that dogs could be police officers too.

    They stepped outside where several police cars were parked. Officer Mike explained that policemen often patrol to keep the city safe.

    Peter even got to sit in one of the cars and try on a police hat. He felt like a real policeman!

    Back home, Peter excitedly told his father about his day at the police station. He expressed his admiration for the policemen's hard work.

    His dad was amused and proud. He was glad that Peter had learned about the important role policemen play in our society.

    That night, Peter decided to write a thank-you note to Officer Mike for showing him around and teaching him about their work.

    As he was going to bed, Peter told his dad that he wanted to be a policeman when he grew up. His dad smiled and wished him sweet dreams.
