Romy's heart-wrenching cries pierced through the night, waking up the entire household. "Felicia!" he wailed, his voice strained with pain.

Alberto, roused from his sleep, charged into the room, his eyes wild with concern. "What the hell happened here?" he roared, his voice echoing off the walls.

"She hit me!" Romy sobbed, pointing a trembling finger at Felicia, who stood across the room, her face flushed with guilt.

Alberto's anger surged. He stormed over to Felicia, grabbing her by the shoulders. "What did you do?" he growled, his grip tightening.

Felicia winced, crying out in pain. "Dad, you're hurting me!" Her plea seemed to fall on deaf ears as Alberto's grip intensified.

"Why can't you behave?" Alberto's voice was a dangerous whisper, his rage barely contained. Blood started to seep from under his hands.

"Dad, stop!" Felicia's voice was weak, her face turning pale. Her eyes rolled back as she started to lose consciousness.

Alberto, suddenly realizing the severity of his actions, quickly released Felicia. "Felicia! Shit, I'm so sorry!" He sobbed, cradling her limp body.

"You're so beautiful, Felicia," Alberto wept, stroking her hair. "I didn't mean to... I just... I love you too much." He choked out, his words riddled with regret.

"Look at you, with your perfect hair and your pretty freckles." Alberto laughed bitterly through his tears. "You're too good for us, aren't you? Too good to behave?"

He continued to berate her unconscious body, his words harsh and biting. "You think you're so smart, don't you? Well, guess what? You're not!"

"You're just a spoiled little brat who doesn't know how good she has it!" Alberto shouted, his words echoing through the silent house.

Tears streamed down his face as he continued to spew venomous words, each one more hurtful than the last. "You're nothing but a selfish, ungrateful child!"

"You don't deserve this family!" His voice broke on the last word, his anger now replaced with an overwhelming sense of guilt and regret.

Alberto held Felicia closer, his body shaking with sobs. "I'm sorry, Felicia. I'm so sorry." He whispered, his voice barely audible.

Romy, who had been watching the entire scene from a corner, ran out of the room, terrified. He bumped into Luca, who had just returned home.

"Dad, Dad!" Romy cried, tugging at Luca's sleeve. "Something's wrong with Felicia! Dad hurt her!" His words were a jumbled mess, his fear evident.

Luca's heart dropped. He rushed into the room, his eyes falling on the horrifying scene. "Alberto, what did you do?" He asked, his voice trembling.

Alberto looked up, his face a mask of guilt. "I... I didn't mean to... I was just... I'm sorry..." He stammered, his words barely coherent.

Luca quickly dialed the emergency number, his hands shaking. "My daughter... she's hurt... please hurry," he pleaded into the phone.

As they waited for the ambulance, Luca tried to calm Romy down. "It's going to be okay, Romy. Felicia's going to be fine," he promised, holding his son close.

When the ambulance finally arrived, Felicia was rushed to the hospital, leaving the family in a state of shock. Alberto was left behind, his guilt consuming him.

"I didn't mean to hurt her, Luca," Alberto whispered, his voice barely audible. "I just... I love them so much. I don't want to lose them."

"We need to make things right, Alberto," Luca replied, his voice firm. "Our love for our family shouldn't hurt them. We need to change."

And so, they vowed to change. For their children, for Felicia, and for themselves. Because their love for their family was stronger than any fear, any anger.

And as they waited for news of Felicia, they held each other, their love for their family burning brighter than ever. It was their beacon in the darkness.

In the end, love always prevails. It might get twisted and turn into something ugly, but it can always be redirected to its original, pure form.

And that was the lesson they learned that fateful night. A lesson of love, of fear, and of change. A lesson they'd remember for the rest of their lives.

Their love for their family may have been the cause of their downfall, but it was also their salvation. And they'd do everything in their power to protect that love.

Because in the end, love is what truly matters. And they were willing to fight for it, no matter what. Their love was their strength, their hope, their everything.

And so they waited, their hearts heavy with worry, but filled with hope. For Felicia, for their family, and for their love. Because they knew, love always wins.
