The classroom was bustling with the chatter of excited students. Their voices filled the room, creating an atmosphere of anticipation. The teacher, a stern-looking woman with a warm smile, walked in.

"Good morning, class!" she greeted, looking around at the eager faces. The chatter died down as the students turned their attention toward their new teacher. "Let's start with introductions."

The first student to speak was a girl with a ponytail bouncing around her shoulder. "Hello, I am Maria," she said, her voice shaky but determined.

The teacher gave Maria an encouraging nod. "Nice to meet you, Maria. Now, let's proceed to the next introduction."

The boy sitting next to Maria stood up. "Hi, my name is Alex," he introduced himself, a hint of nervousness in his voice.

The teacher provided the same warm acknowledgment to Alex and encouraged the next student. The orderly process continued, filling the room with different names and personalities.

Next in line was a petite girl with glasses. She rose from her seat, straightened her skirt, and announced, "Hello, I'm Jane."

The teacher greeted Jane and then turned her gaze to the last student. He stood up, his tall frame looming over his classmates. "I'm Sam," he said.

The teacher thanked Sam for his introduction and addressed the entire class. She praised their courage for introducing themselves in English.

Now, it was time to move onto the greetings portion of the lesson. The teacher wrote a list of common greetings on the board for the students to pronounce.

Maria went first, her voice still shaky. She pronounced each greeting clearly and received a nod of approval from the teacher.

Alex was up next. He stumbled a bit with the pronunciation but was quick to correct himself. The teacher praised his efforts.

Jane took her turn with confidence. Her pronunciation was nearly perfect, eliciting a commendation from the teacher.

Finally, it was Sam's turn. He seemed relaxed, his deep voice making the greetings sound different but correct. The teacher smiled at his attempt.

They moved on to saying 'goodbye' in different ways. The students took turns practicing various farewells, each with their unique pronunciation.

The teacher then initiated an activity where they had to greet each other in English. The classroom echoed with laughter and the sounds of greetings spoken in varying accents.

Maria and Alex paired up, shyly exchanging greetings. They stumbled over words, but laughed it off, their confidence slowly building.

Jane greeted Sam with ease, her tone wavering between formal and casual as she practiced different phrases. Sam responded in his laid-back style.

This activity continued for the rest of the class. The fear of speaking a new language was slowly replaced by enjoyment and laughter.

The bell rang, signaling the end of the session. The students were reluctant to leave, their faces reflecting the fun they had.

The teacher gave them a fond smile, aware of the progress they'd made in just one session. "Don't forget to practice at home," she reminded them.

They nodded, already planning to practice their newly learned skills. The room buzzed with different variations of 'goodbye' as they packed up.

As the students left the room, the teacher looked around, satisfied. Her first English class had been a success.

The last echoes of enthusiastic conversations faded, leaving the room silent. The empty classroom was filled with the promise of more lessons, more growth, and more laughter.

As she left the classroom, a sense of accomplishment filled her. The first day had set a great tone for the rest of the academic year.
