It was a gloomy night when the hitchhiker, Nate, flagged down a car on a desolate road. The driver, a man named Roger, agreed to drop him at a mansion located deep within the woods.

As they approached the mansion, Roger's car sputtered and died, leaving them stranded in front of the eerie structure. They decided to seek shelter inside, as the night was dark and the weather was turning bad.

The mansion was vast and deserted, filled with eerie shadows and an unsettling silence. They decided to stay the night, finding comfort in the fact that they were not alone.

As they explored the mansion, they found that each room seemed to be more horrifying than the last. Strange noises, moving shadows, and chilling drafts added to the fear.

Suddenly, they found themselves locked in separate rooms. Nate was trapped in a room filled with mirrors reflecting distorted images, while Roger was stuck in a room where the walls seemed to be closing in.

Nate, finding a rusty knife in his room, began to panic. The reflections in the mirrors seemed to be getting closer, their distorted faces almost coming to life.

Meanwhile, Roger was fighting his own battle. The walls were inching closer with each passing minute, threatening to crush him. He looked for something, anything, to wedge between the walls.

Nate, driven to desperation, attacked his own reflection with the knife. The mirror shattered, and the room went silent. Suddenly, the door swung open, freeing him.

Hearing the shattering glass, Roger got an idea. He found a heavy statuette and threw it at the wall. It broke open, revealing a hidden lever. He pulled it, and the walls stopped moving.

Nate ran to Roger's room, finding the door unlocked. They were both shaken but relieved. They decided to stick together and find a way out of the haunted mansion.

As they navigated through the mansion, they encountered more terrifying experiences. Yet, they managed to survive each one, their survival instincts kicking in.

Dawn broke, and the mansion seemed less menacing in the soft light. They found the main door and, with a sigh of relief, stepped out into the fresh morning air.

As they stood there, looking at the mansion in the daylight, they realized that they had survived a haunted house. Exhausted but alive, they knew they had a story to tell.

Nate turned to Roger, the knife still in his hand. "We made it," he said, his voice filled with relief. They were free, and they had survived the haunted mansion.

Roger looked at Nate, a smile breaking through his fatigue. "Yes, we did," he said. As the sun rose higher, they left the mansion behind, their fear replaced with a feeling of triumph.
