Thalia let out a sigh of relief, cradling her newborn daughter, Irene, in her arms. She glanced at the baby's electric blue eyes and jet-black hair, both mirror images of her own.

"She's beautiful Thalia", a deep booming voice echoed in the room. Thalia looked up and saw her father, Zeus, the king of the gods.

Thalia’s older daughter, Annie, peeked out from under the blanket that she had been hiding under. She looked at her grandfather and smirked.

“God grandpa where were you for my mom when I was born?” Annie asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

Zeus chuckled softly, a twinkle in his eye. "Annie, I was there when you were born. But I was disguised as rain on that cold December night," he admitted.

Thalia's gaze flittered between Zeus and Annie, curiosity flashing in her eyes. She had never heard this story before.

Zeus continued, "Your mother was so focused on your birth, she didn't notice. Not only was I there, I was also the one who suggested your name, Andromeda."

Thalia looked at her father, realisation slowly dawning on her face. She had always wondered where the name Andromeda had come from.

Annie turned towards her mother with a "See, I told you so" look on her face. Thalia let out a soft chuckle at her daughter's antics.

"Why were you so upset when Annie was born, father?" Thalia asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"Ah," Zeus sighed, "that was because of a bet that Apollo made. He said I couldn't stay away from your side during your labor."

Thalia and Annie both looked surprised. "Apollo did what?" Thalia asked, her eyes wide. The thought of Apollo wagering on her birth was beyond belief.

"Yes." Zeus's eyes twinkled mischievously. "He lost the bet, and I was indeed cross with him. Thus the thunderstorm on your birth night, Annie."

The room erupted in laughter. Thalia shook her head, struggling to keep her surprise and amusement contained. Annie giggled, her eyes dancing with delight.

Zeus then spoke about the most recent bet about Irene's gender. "Athena, Hera, and Hades correctly guessed that you'd have another daughter, Thalia."

Thalia looked at her father, surprise in her eyes. "Even Hades wagered? I can't believe the gods had bets on my children's gender, father!"

Annie looked intrigued. "Did anyone bet that mom would have a boy?" she questioned, sparing a glance at her sister, Irene.

Zeus laughed heartily. "Yes, Poseidon did. But he was disappointed when he found out that Irene was a girl."

Listening to her grandfather's stories, Annie was lost in her own little world. She imagined Poseidon's shocked expression and laughed at the thought.

Thalia, caught up in Zeus's tales, looked at her daughters. She felt a new wave of affection for the two little miracles in her life.

The room filled with warmth and laughter as they exchanged stories and jokes. Grandpa Zeus had indeed saved the day. His visit had turned a normal day into an unforgettable experience.

As time passed, the room fell quiet. Thalia, clutching Irene closer, looked at Annie, who was snuggled under the warm blanket, her eyes heavy with sleep.

Zeus, with a warm smile, gave his granddaughters a gentle kiss on their foreheads. "Sleep well, my little goddesses," he whispered.

Thalia watched as Zeus disappeared, leaving behind a soft glow and an unforgettable memory. She held her daughters tighter, her heart filled with love and gratitude.

As the night wore on, Thalia and her daughters drifted off to sleep, the echoes of their laughter and love filling the room. It had indeed been a day saved by Grandpa Zeus.
