Once upon a time in the land of Canaan, there lived a young boy named Joseph. He was the son of Jacob, who loved him dearly. Joseph had eleven brothers, but he was his father's favorite.

One day, Jacob gave Joseph a beautiful coat of many colors. This made Joseph's brothers very jealous. They believed their father loved Joseph more than them, and they could not stand it.

Joseph also had a gift for interpreting dreams. One night, he dreamt that he was a powerful prince ruling over Egypt, and his brothers were bowing down to him. He excitedly told his family his dream.

This made his brothers even more jealous. They thought Joseph was trying to prove he was better than them. So, they decided to get rid of Joseph by selling him as a slave to a group of traders traveling to Egypt.

In Egypt, Joseph was bought by a kind man named Potipar, who worked for the Pharaoh. Joseph was a hard worker and quickly gained Potipar's trust. He was soon put in charge of Potipar's entire household.

One day, Joseph was falsely accused of a terrible crime by Potipar's wife. Even though he was innocent, he was sent to jail. Joseph felt lost and scared but continued to pray to God for guidance.

In jail, Joseph discovered that he could help people by interpreting their dreams, and word of his gift reached the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh needed help understanding a troubling dream and called for Joseph.

Joseph explained that the Pharaoh's dream meant that Egypt would have seven years of plentiful harvests, followed by seven years of terrible famine. He advised the Pharaoh to save food during the good years to survive the famine.

The Pharaoh was so impressed with Joseph's wisdom that he made him a powerful ruler in Egypt. Joseph organized the storage of food and prepared Egypt for the coming years of hunger.

As the famine began, people from many lands traveled to Egypt to buy food. Among them were Joseph's brothers, who did not recognize their brother in his new position of power.

Joseph recognized his brothers but said nothing. Instead, he decided to test them. He sent them back home to bring their youngest brother, Benjamin, who was born after Joseph was sold into slavery.

When the brothers returned with Benjamin, Joseph accused Benjamin of stealing a valuable silver cup, which he had secretly placed in his bag. He threatened to keep Benjamin as a slave as punishment.

Joseph's brothers were devastated. They begged Joseph for mercy, offering themselves as slaves in Benjamin's place. Joseph knew that his brothers had changed, and he could not keep his secret any longer.

Tears filled his eyes as he revealed his true identity to his brothers. They were shocked and afraid, thinking that Joseph would punish them for selling him into slavery years ago.

But Joseph forgave his brothers. He understood that God had a plan for him, and being sold into slavery had led him to a position of power where he could save many lives during the famine.

Joseph invited his entire family to live with him in Egypt, where they would never go hungry. His brothers were grateful for Joseph's forgiveness, and they lived together in harmony for the rest of their days.
