The morning sun was high in the sky when Mark made his decision. "We have to leave this island," he declared, looking at the dense jungle surrounding them. "Setting the jungle on fire is our last resort."

Corby's eyes widened with apprehension. "What about Edward?" he asked, eyeing the distant figure of their companion who was busy gathering food. "We can't do such things, Mark!"

"Do we have any other choice?” Mark responded with a grim resolution in his voice. He began to gather dry twigs and leaves, his mind set on the drastic plan.

Ignorant Edward returned to them, his hands loaded with ripe fruits. His joyous smile morphed into a puzzled frown as he noticed their solemn faces and the suspicious pile of dry leaves.

Mark's heart thumped in his chest as he lit the first spark. He couldn't help but feel remorse for what he was about to do. However, the idea of living another day on this desolate island was unbearable.

The flames started small, but soon began to consume the nearby vegetation. Edward, unaware of their plan, watched in horror. Mark and Corby exchanged apprehensive glances before raising their handmade spears.

Mark gave the signal and they charged towards Edward, their makeshift weapons raised high. Edward, taken aback by the sudden attack, turned and sprinted towards the beach.

They chased him through the burning jungle, their shouts mingling with the roaring fire and the crashing waves. Mark could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins. This was survival, he thought.

Edward stumbled and fell onto the sand, gasping for breath. His eyes were wide with terror as he watched the advancing boys. Did they really intend to kill him?

Mark approached Edward, his spear pointed at him. He swallowed hard, struggling with the inner voice that screamed against this horror. But they needed to be rescued, and this was the only solution they had.

Suddenly, a helicopter's rotor was heard in the distance. Mark's heart leaped with hope. They were finally being rescued! They dropped their spears in relief, their hostile demeanor fading.

As the helicopter touched down on the sandy beach, they all rushed forward, waving wildly. They were oblivious to the still smoldering jungle behind them. All they cared about was getting off the island.

Edward was in a state of shock. The occurrences of the day were beyond his comprehension. He simply followed the other boys, too shaken to react.

They were rescued and taken away from the island. However, even though they escaped the jungle, their minds were still imprisoned by the haunting memories they had created.

Later, back home, Mark often woke up in a cold sweat, haunted by Edward's terrified eyes. He regretted his actions, yet understood they were driven by desperation. He vowed to never let his life be dominated by fear again.

Corby too was haunted by their actions. The island had brought out a primal instinct in them that he never knew existed. He wondered if they had lost their humanity in that fiery jungle.

Edward, on the other hand, learned to forgive them for their misguided actions. He understood the despair they must've felt. However, he also realized the importance of sticking to one's morals, even in dire circumstances.

The jungle fire ended up being a defining event in their lives. It not only led to their rescue but also made them confront their inner demons. It was an experience that shaped their characters.

Yet, they all found solace in the fact that they had survived. The island experience had been harrowing, but it also taught them valuable life lessons. Most importantly, it taught them about the thin line between survival and humanity.

In the end, they managed to turn the nightmare into a stepping stone towards maturity. They learned from their mistakes and vowed to never cross the divide between desperation and morality again.

Despite the bitterness of the past, they found the strength to move on. They embraced their mistakes, learned from them, and managed to chart a path of self-improvement.

They also realized the importance of solidarity. In desperate times, abandoning one's comrades was not an option. They learned to have faith in each other and in their collective strength.

The jungle fire remained a vivid memory, etched deeply in their minds. However, they used this memory as a reminder of the mistakes they never wanted to repeat.

The trauma of the experience gradually faded into a lesson of survival, unity, and resilience. They became symbols of strength and determination, of individuals who learned the hard way.

Eventually, the island and its fiery jungle became a thing of the past. But their experiences remained an integral part of their lives, shaping their thoughts, actions, and attitudes.

Through their ordeal, they grew stronger, wiser, and more empathetic. They learned to appreciate the value of life and the importance of sticking together in the face of adversity.

And so, they moved forward, carrying with them the scars of the past, but also the strength that they found within themselves. They embraced their mistakes and turned them into life lessons.

The jungle fire was a nightmare that was behind them, but it made them who they were. And for that, they found themselves grateful, despite the pain it had wrought.

Thus, the jungle fire served as a reminder that even amidst despair and fear, it is crucial to hold on to one's humanity. It taught them that survival is more than just staying alive; it is about preserving one's essence.

In the end, their ordeal became an instrument of growth and self-improvement. It was a testament to their resilience. Through their actions, they learned, they changed, and they thrived.

The memory of the jungle fire lived on, not as a horror, but as a valuable lesson. They learned the power of unity, the strength of will, and the beauty of forgiveness.

Through trials and tribulations, they discovered the true essence of survival - the instinct to protect, to forgive, and above all, to love. They found hope, redemption, and a path to a brighter future.

Their journey was a testament to the remarkable ability of human beings to overcome adversities. Despite the fear, guilt, and remorse, they found the strength to move forward and rise above.

And so, the jungle fire became a part of them- a part that reminded them of their mistakes, their courage, and their strength. It was a symbol of their journey from despair to resilience.

Life moved on, but their experiences on the island shaped them, guided them, and molded them into resilient individuals. The jungle fire, in the end, was a symbol of their rebirth.
