Hearthstone was lying shirtless, cradling Hero on his chest, trying to get him to latch on. His skin was pale, contrasting sharply with the dark curls on Hero's head. Beside him, Blitzen watched nervously, his hand on Hero's back for support.

The door creaked open rudely, all eyes turning to the figure standing in the doorway. Mr. Alderman, Hearth's father, wore a look of displeasure as he took in the scene.

"Disgusting," Mr. Alderman spat out, his eyes filled with judgement. He walked over with an air of superiority, peering over Hearth's shoulder.

Hearthstone ignored the harsh words, choosing instead to focus on Hero. He traced his fingers through the boy's soft curls, his expression softening.

Blitzen, meanwhile, tightened his hold on Hero, glaring at Mr. Alderman. He was all too familiar with the tension between Hearth and his father.

Yet despite his disdain, Mr. Alderman lent a hand. He adjusted the angle at which Hearth was holding Hero, his face expressionless.

Hearthstone gritted his teeth, enduring his father's presence for the sake of Hero. He felt the small body in his arms shift, then all went silent.

Suddenly, there was a soft sound, a weak sucking noise. A smile broke out on Hearth's face, and Blitzen let out a sigh of relief. Hero had latched on.

Mr. Alderman, however, remained stoic. He watched as Hearth cradled Hero, his gaze unreadable. For a moment, though, his eyes softened.

"He looks like you when you were born," he said, his voice almost warm. It was a rare moment of sentimentality from the usually cold elf.

Hearthstone didn't acknowledge the comment, his attention solely on Hero. Blitzen, however, gave a surprised look to Mr. Alderman, before quickly masking it.

The room fell into a peaceful silence, interrupted only by the gentle hum of Hero feeding. Hearthstone remained still, a content smile on his lips.

Mr. Alderman turned away abruptly, his face as stern as ever. Yet in his eyes, there was a glimmer of something. Regret? Pride? It was impossible to tell.

Blitzen and Hearth exchanged a glance, both ignoring the retreating back of Mr. Alderman. Their focus was solely on their newborn son, their precious Hero.

Hearthstone's fingers gently caressed Hero's back, his touch feather-light. He marveled at the small life in his arms, a product of their love.

Blitzen watched on, his expression filled with pride and love. Despite the presence of Mr. Alderman, this was a moment they would cherish.

A sense of tranquility enveloped the room. Hearthstone and Blitzen were lost in the comfort of their family, their worries momentarily forgotten.

The soft sounds of Hero's feeding were like a lullaby, lulling Hearthstone and Blitzen into a peaceful moment, their world revolving around their son.

In the quiet of the room, Hearthstone and Blitzen shared a knowing look. Despite their differences, they were one in their love for Hero.

Finally, Hearthstone felt Hero slow down on his feeding. He gently detached him, cooing softly at the satisfied burp that followed.

Blitzen moved over to take Hero from Hearthstone, a proud smile on his face. Fatherhood had softened both Hearthstone and Blitzen in ways they never thought possible.

As they switched roles, Hearthstone couldn't help but study Hero. He was perfect, a blend of both Hearthstone and Blitzen, their greatest treasure.

Blitzen gently rocked Hero in his arms, his eyes soft. He looked up at Hearthstone, mouthing, "We did well." In return, Hearthstone just nodded, his smile said it all.

Hearthstone turned his gaze towards the now-closed door, where his father had stood. For once, he felt no animosity, only a strange sense of relief.

They were a family, Hearthstone realized. Despite the harsh words and judgement, they were united, bound by the love they shared for Hero.

Holding onto that thought, Hearthstone turned back to Blitzen and Hero. He was ready to face whatever came their way, as long as they were together.

Hearthstone knew that they wouldn't be a traditional family, but they didn't need to be. They were unique, perfect in their own way, and that was enough.

As they each held Hero, they made a silent promise - to protect him, to love him, to always be there for him. Because he was their Hero.

In the quiet of the room, Hero's soft cries died down, his eyes fluttering close. Hearthstone and Blitzen shared a content sigh, their precious Hero was asleep.

To anyone else, it was just another night. But to Hearthstone and Blitzen, it was a memory to be cherished, a moment that spoke volumes about their unshakeable bond.

As Hearthstone and Blitzen gazed at their sleeping son, they knew their journey as a family was just beginning. And they couldn't have been more ready.

The latch, a simple task, was a milestone for them. It was a task they'd conquered together, it wasn't just about feeding, it was about their unyielding love for Hero.

So, as the night wore on, Hearthstone and Blitzen held onto the moment, the tranquility. While they knew struggles were bound to come, for now, they reveled in their happiness.

And so, they allowed themselves to bask in the peace of the room, the sound of Hero's soft breathing lulling them into a comforting silence. Their family was whole.

Although they were from different backgrounds, with different personalities, Hearthstone and Blitzen were perfect together, their love for each other and for Hero binding them into an invincible unit.
