In a large house, there lived a lazy young boy named Tobi. He would spend most of his day in bed, only waking up in the afternoons to eat.

Tobi's best friend was his parrot, Polly. She was quite the opposite of Tobi, always active, chatty, and intrigued by everything around her.

Polly found Tobi's lifestyle very strange and puzzling. She was a bird who loved the sun and started her day at dawn, while Tobi slept till noon.

One sunny morning, Polly couldn't take it anymore. She flew over to the slumbering Tobi and started to interrogate him about his lazy habits.

Polly questioned, "Don't you get tired of lying in bed all day and all night? The sun has been out hours ago, and people have finished half their day's work."

She stared at Tobi and ruffled her feathers, waiting for an answer. Tobi merely yawned and turned to face his chatty friend.

"Every morning, two friends whisper in my ears. One friend is Hard Work and the other is Laziness," Tobi answered lazily.

Tobi continued, "Hard Work tells me to wake up, that there's lots to do. But Laziness always convinces me otherwise, and so, I end up in bed."

Polly was amazed at Tobi's explanation. She had no idea that Tobi had such a profound reason for his laziness.

Polly was the sort of bird who only listened to Hard Work. The idea of listening to Laziness was foreign to her. But, she understood Tobi a little better now.

Over the next few days, Polly decided to help Tobi. She knew it wouldn't be easy to change him, but she was determined to try.

The next morning, as the sun rose, Polly flew over to Tobi's bed. She started singing melodiously, her chirps filling the room with energy.

Tobi woke up to the sound of Polly's singing. He groaned and pulled the covers over his head, but Polly wouldn't let him go back to sleep.

For the next few days, this became their routine. Polly would wake Tobi up with her singing, and Tobi would grumpily start his day.

Slowly, Tobi started getting used to waking up early. He began to notice the beauty of the morning and the energy it brought with it.

Tobi began to enjoy having breakfast with the rising sun and even started doing small chores around the house. Polly was delighted to see the change in him.

One day, Tobi thanked Polly for helping him realize the importance of time. He was grateful for her patience and the effort she put into changing his habits.

Polly was happy to see Tobi transformed and told him, "Hard Work is your best friend. Always listen to him." Tobi nodded and promised to try.

Tobi began to enjoy the process of working hard and earned the respect of his family. He was no longer the lazy boy whom everyone knew but a responsible young man.

The large house that once echoed the lazy yawns of Tobi now resonated with his energetic activities. His parents were proud, and Polly, of course, was overjoyed.

Years later, Tobi became a successful man with hard work as his best friend. He often remembered Polly's words and her efforts to change him.

Whenever he saw a lazy individual, Tobi would smile and share his story. He told them about his transformation from a lazy boy to a hardworking man.

Tobi's story spread far and wide, inspiring many lazy youngsters to change their habits. They realized that time was valuable and that they too, could become successful.

Tobi always remembered to thank Polly, his little parrot friend, who had once questioned his laziness. He now watched the sunrise every day, cherishing each moment.

Thus, the lazy boy named Tobi learned the value of time and hard work from his talkative parrot, Polly. Their story remains a reminder that change is possible, no matter how difficult it seems.
